Of the five kits they offer: assorted, coarse, medium, fine and diamond, which is the one that is needed the most?** A: Course is basically for tools (axe, shovel, etc). Medium and fine for knives. Mediums wear down the fastest, but you definitely need to use the fine to get it paper-slicing sharp. When i restock I buy a multipack and a medium pack. I've tried a couple of off brands and while they are much less expensive and they mostly work, you really need the 6000 grit fine to put a polish on it to get razor sharp. I am using those ones up on things that don't need to be as sharp as kitchen, pocket, or hunting knives. Unless you can find the exact grits as these, just stick with the name brand.. **Q: How long do the belts last? 20 sharpenings, 50 sharpenings, etc.. Do the belts all last equally long, or will fine wear out faster than medium?** A: I sharpened approx. 14 knives various sizes initially, course and medium belts still in good shape went thru 85% of a fine belt so yes the fine will wear out quicker than the other grits but once sharp not bad wear on the maintenance touch ups. **Q: A friend of mine loves his work sharp, the only concern he has is sharpening the very tips of his pocke knives. He says its somewhat difficult** A: I have just started using my Work Sharp Knife Sharpener. I found that sharpening the tip of a pocket knife is tricky but doable. You have to follow the blade curvature while keeping the knife blade flush with the guide. It takes a couple of tries to get this right. If you don't follow the curvature the tip will not have the correct angle and if you don't keep the blade against the guide the angle will be off. I have been sharpening everything from my pocket knives to my wife's kitchen knives. **Q: Do these belts fit the WSKTS-KO?** A: Yes, they would work.
