## Questions & Answers

**Q: what minimum hole needs to be drilled for this pg34 1/0 gauge bushing? 3/4? 7/8?**
A: The part passing through the hole is 3/4" NPT, which has a diameter of 1.05" according to the chart linked below, and confirmed by my own measurement. You might be able to force it through a 1" hole but I wouldn't recommend it. Depending on how you drill it, I could imagine you might end up with a hole big enough because it's so close. Certainly not 7/8". I just tried 1 1/8" and it was fairly loose though I think it will work. 1 1/16" would be better I'm sure. It would not fit into the 1" hole I drilled.https://mdmetric.com/tech/thddat19.htm

**Q: Can this be untightrned or removed without damaging**
A: Yes, as long as you did not over tighten the nut and damage the threads you can remove it and reuse it again.

**Q: What is the max/min inner diameter hole of the bushing? Or, what is the Max/Min cable outer diameter that can fit?**
A: I don't know the answer to your question. All I can tell you is that I used them on a 1/0 cable and thought they were too big for the cable until I screwed the nut down. The inside rubber squeezes down and fits tightly over the cable. There were a few threads left on the nut so I would guess you could go as small as a 1AWG or maybe a 2AWG but that would be its limit. There was enough slack with the nut when it was loose that I would guess it would handle a 2/0 or maybe a 3/0 but the 3/0 would be its high end limit. I would be surprised if a 4/0 would fit but if that was what I was going to use them for then I would buy one and see. You will need to drill a 1 1/16" - "1 1/8" hole in the wall you are mounting this in. The wall you are drilling this hole in should not be thicker than "3/8" or you will not be able to screw the mounting nut on. The end where you put the cable in will allow a very tight "3/4" thick cable but no larger. Hope this helps.

**Q: Which end goes on the outside and how do you install it correctly in the hole?**
A: On my truck, the flat end is outside, the end with the nut is inside so I can tight from inside. The firewall is in between the 2 nuts.

    slightly confussing and too large

*by S***O on Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2014*

i bought this obviously for my zero gauge wire to go through my firewall, i bought it and it was quite a bit larger than my wire was, i measured my wire and looked it up, my zero gauge wire does meet and American Wire Gauge standards, and it also seems like even if my insulation was as thick as i have ever seen, it would probably still be too large.also when i installed it into my vehicle, i was a little confused because there are 2 nut type ends, the rounded off one and one that looks just like a regular nut, and then a middle piece that does not move between them to separate them, i was a little confused because as far as i can see it isn't exactly necessary to have the middle piece because if you got the middle one through the firewall padding the other end nut will go through just as well if that's what it was designed for, i just ended up leaving the other nut type piece off because i didn't have the space to get my hand up there and screw it on.all things considered it works well and obviously gets rid of the exposed metal, but i also believe that a regular grommet from a home improvement store works just as well and is allot cheaper, the only real advantage of this is that it looks cool if its visible in your engine bay.

YOU NEED THIS!!! DONT CHEAP OUT!!!

*by M***O on Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2017*

Best firewall plug/grommet on the market! Its simple to use and water tight when using the correct gauge wire. Im into the car audio scene SPL all the way, Things shake vibrate and break all the time, this is a must have to stop your huge wire from chaffing the jacket off and making contact with the firwall its running thru lol. Safety 1st and Stinger knocked it way outta the park with this product, home run baby!!!

    Good product....but is loose...

*by S***G on Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2013*

I hate to not give any product a 5 star but as the previous guy said above, it is loose around 0-gauge cable. I took a chance after reading the review, different cable sometimes run smaller or larger, depending on the maker. Anyways, the product was well made, feels great, but I will also be applying silicone to make this completely water proof.
