I used the XGGYA Old Work Box for adding a new switch in an existing wall, and it worked perfectly. The plastic is sturdy and doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy, and the clamps tightened securely without cracking the drywall. The 14 cu in capacity provides plenty of room for wiring, which made the install much easier and cleaner. It fit standard switches with no issues, aligned flush with the wall, and held everything firmly in place. For the price, this box performs just as well as more expensive brands. What can you say, it's a basic electrical work box and works as advertised. You can get these cheaper at your local Home Depot, but if you don't want to drive to pick one up and are willing to pay a bit more these work too.

Perfect size. I Love the adjustable mounting tabs for these old houses with plaster and lathe. Also work well with drywall when there isn't a stud handy. It's strong a great value and installs easily. I prefer the old work boxes over the newer options.

I’ve traditionally done Reno work the hard way, either cut and patch drywall or figure out exactly where your stud is and get just the right box and screw it into place. Either way is so much harder than these. I cut a hole, ran my wire, wired the box. And plopped it in. No drywall, no issues. I will be ordering more

Perfect for my use case! It is cheap and easy to use. Just cut a rectangle out from your drywall, slide it in and use a screwdriver to clamp on to the drywall.
