There is a temporary combination (0-0-0) for the lock, that you can change. 
When you purchase a Blokkd fireproof bag, you will receive the combination lock instruction via email on the same day of purchase. 
The instructions include visuals with 5 easy steps on how-to open the lock with the temporary password and how to create your own password.

Have been searching for something to store our valuable documents in so I feel better about prepping for hurricane season. Am very happy I found this bag. Sturdy and roomy. Seems very secure. Our first bag had a defective zipper and when I contacted the company they responded immediately and sent a new one. I can't personally say whether it's waterproof or fireproof (hope I never have to!) but I do feel better knowing my documents are stored in this bag and even happier that there is a company out there with amazing customer service. Such a rarity these days!
