They took around 45 to 60 minutes to hit, but once they did, they hit hard. When I started to feel it, I rolled over and I was out. In all fairness, I'd taken a 12mg melatonin and some heart meds about 30 minutes before taking the Unisom, so I don't know what roll they played in it. But I do know that I got to sleep faster, and stayed asleep longer with the Unisom. I got up three times for a bathroom run during the night, but each time, I got back to sleep right away upon returning to bed. I didn't have any dreaming with it, at least none that I remember. I'm going to try taking one tonight. I'll update this review with the results of the reduced dosage, tomorrow.
