She did think I got it out of someone's yard and just wrapped it in newspaper, but once I explained, she liked it better. Lol. I told her you just put it in some soil and leave it alone. A month later, we have a whole new leaf/ear growing. Looks so healthy! Review: Patience Required - They arrived very soft and spongy, I propped them up in a pot of water for about a week and then potted them in cactus dirt. I needed to support them with sticks front and back to keep them from bending in half. By the time our Summer had passed; approximately 90 days, one of them has a piece about 9 inches grown out of the top of it while the other piece remains firm but has not grown in height. Hopefully by next Summer they will take off. Of course I have them in a pot so who knows what to expect. ## Features - 1 bare rooted prickly pear plant without pot or soil. - Repot indoors or can be replanted outdoors if the weather is warm enough. - Plant is cold hardy when established. - Opuntia - Pricky Pear ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B007R5SUNA | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,545,929 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #4,880 in Cacti & Succulent Plants | | Brand | LEGENDARY-YES | | Brand Name | LEGENDARY-YES | | Color | Green | | Customer Reviews | 3.7 out of 5 stars 87 Reviews | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Indoor/Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Manufacturer | OTC Health Focus | | Moisture Needs | Moderate Watering | | Plant or Animal Product Type | Cactus | | Soil Type | Sandy Soil | | Sunlight Exposure | Partial Sun | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Plant or Animal Product Type:** Cactus - **Indoor/Outdoor Usage:** Indoor - **Brand:** LEGENDARY-YES - **Color:** Green - **Sunlight Exposure:** Partial Sun - **Unit Count:** 1 Count - **Soil Type:** Sandy Soil - **Moisture Needs:** Moderate Watering ## Images ![Prickly Pear Cactus Plant Live Opuntia - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51R8i17bs+L.jpg) ![Prickly Pear Cactus Plant Live Opuntia - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41WMiwhqLpL.jpg) ![Prickly Pear Cactus Plant Live Opuntia - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31YjtADWPHL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Healthy and recommended *by K***Y on July 21, 2019* I gave this as a gift to my mom for her birthday. Too moist to plant at first and had to dry it out for a week or so to keep the end from rotting. But now, it is growing well with both pieces forming new pads. ## Frequently Bought Together - Prickly Pear Cactus Plant Live Opuntia - Creation Cultivated - Live "Spineless Prickly Pear Cactus" - Opuntia cacanapa "Ellisiana" (1 PAD Cutting) / Winter Hardy Cactus - USDA Zone 6 / Unrooted Freshly Cut Cactus Pads / Tortoise Food - 3 Cuttings Purple Prickly Pear Cactus Opuntia Violacea 6"-8" Pads --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.in/products/6791981-prickly-pear-cactus-plant-live-opuntia](https://www.desertcart.in/products/6791981-prickly-pear-cactus-plant-live-opuntia) --- *Product available on Desertcart India* *Store origin: IN* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
