This shade is in a class its own. I gave messing with the "folding" removable sunshades years ago. They're cheap but better described as "disposable" than "folding"; they take up too much space and are really awkward to put in place every time they need to be used and most are of poor quality and quickly tear or the hems become loose. This is double the price but more than worth the extra cost - it's is made of much higher quality material than any I've seen before. The installation instructions are excellent -clear and intelligent- and it takes only a few minutes to get this installed in place. It's unobtrusive when retracted and takes up no appreciable space. Unlike other shades, this is one that I'll use every time I have need of it and it looks sturdy enough to last for years.

Works very well, simple to install. VERY compact and easy to use. this is my 4th vehicle with the original SunShade.

This is literally the only sun shade I will use from now on. All the other ones I either forgot to put up or cluttered my car. This is great!

I have owned these before for my previous two cars and it works great, but there is a design flaw. (Hence 4 star vs 5). I’ve noticed that after a while, the elastic/thread will snap, and the whole thing falls apart. Despite this, I decided to buy another one because I really like the convenience and didn’t want something I had to remove and fold up and store. It looks stylish, neat and tidy, and if you’re “very careful” will last a while.

Love this window shade! It's so easy to use, just pull it across and put it in the notch on the other size. No trying to fold it up correctly and fit it in a door pocket when not in use. I do wish it had a cut out for my rearview mirror, but it still keeps my car cool in the summer. My husband said it was easy to install too!

This is our 4th sunshade purchase in six years, 3 times for separate vehicles and 1 gift. They do an amazing job as advertised. IMO most the complaints on here are from non-handy people. Complaint 1, the strings break. Uh, yeah! Eventually UV will eat them. I replace them with premium upholstery thread when this happens. It's not that hard if understand how springs/retraction works (like a tape measure). Complaint 2, it doesn't fold back right. Uh, yeah! Sometimes it will buckle as it's an 18-26 inch pleated piece of fabric. So, just pull it back and let it retract again. I will say, it is MUCH EASIER to clip closed when it's warm and flimsy. So, leaving it extended in the spring/fall overnight will require you to squeeze it a couple times to make it click tight. Complaint 3, the clips fall off. Uh, yeah! Because you suck at following instructions. Clean the glass, wipe off the residue, set clips, press clips firmly against the to maximize surface contact, remove sunshade from the clips for a 24 hours. I installed one for a friend THREE TIMES but only because he kept cracking and replacing his windshield. The clips never came off the windshield even when shattered. Complaint 4, the little tab that hooks it open broke off. This has happened ONCE and nothing a little jb weld didn't permanently fix. So, as long as they are available we will keep buying them for our vehicles.

Update After reading some of the other one stars I went back and looked at my shade. It was missing the bottom string and the top string had broken hence my inability to get it back into it's storage case. I would hope that the vendor would replace it but have not yet heard back from them. I had to buy a new shade since my grandson pulled on it and broke the small tab that attaches to the bracket. Since I enjoyed the shade so much I ordered a new one to replace it. However, the new shade has material that is softer than the original shade had. With the original I was able to fold it back up into it's container with one hand. Not this one! I resorted to getting out of my truck to the passenger side and using two hands to fold it back up! After a couple of days of dealing with that it got to the point where I could not even fold it back up with both of my hands. I had to remove it from my truck so that I could see the passenger side mirror. If this shade had the same stiffer material as the original did I would not be giving this a bad review.
