High quality and better than moleskin
Leuchtturm journals are my favorite. Imo they are higher quality than moleskin. They offer more than moleskin journals. I love the pocket, labels, and two sewn in bookmarks it includes. The gridded pages are my favorite and the paper quality is excellent. Pages are thick enough that I have never had any bleed through. I’m always able to write on the other side.

Best for fountain pen.
Best 80 gsm hard cover notebook for fountain pen -- and I have tried pretty much all the known brands. No feathering / leaking, just a bit of ghosting (its 80 gsm!), reasonable dry time, sturdy cover. Poor choice in my part of yellow color, a bit ratty towards the end (1 year) from traveling in my backpack.

The best notebook
I love these notebooks. I have the navy and the orange and the colors on them look fantastic and not cheap. The notebooks are a little pricey but that is due to their quality. I enjoy the numbered pages and the adhesive labels that come with each one.I am a convert to these from the other major notebook maker. Cannot recommend them highly enough if you enjoy physically taking notes!

My favorite book
This is my sixth book over 5ish years. The color is beautiful and cheerful. My favorite paper to write on. I love the small grid—makes it really easy to draw on a template I like for planning my teaching week. I’ve never kept a journal per se, so the planner I develop in these books works as one. I love going back and looking at them.

Works very well for journaling
These are fantastic journals. Been using them for a little over 10 years now - the pages hold the ink well and do not bleed through despite my using a fountain pen, there's an index in the front, you can get blank or lined pages, the pages are numbered (saves me having to do it myself), good size folder in the back, all very well put together, good quality to cost ratio, they hold up very well. I started getting these after Moleskin sold out and cheapened the quality of their paper & covers while at the same time elevating their prices. The value of these has remained consistent for over a decade now.The one change I always make is to pull off the handy strap meant to keep it closed, then tie it into a loop, so that I can both hold it shut while also strapping my pen to the pages between the covers - which I find much more handy. My only complaint with this most recent one is with Amazon for sending me a color I didn't order - but I don't really care too much, I'm annoyed, but it doesn't impact function or use (just why have a color selection only to send one that wasn't an option in that color selection?).

Fine notebook, but with ghosting
The notebook has a table of contents and a paper pocket which are very nice. The paper writes smoothly with all of my fountain pens and regular writing utensils work just fine. I feel the two bookmarks are a bit excessive, but they don't get in my way.My largest gripe about the notebook is that the paper ghosts really easily, leaving each page messy and hard to read. There is no bleedthrough, though.

Great for journals, drawing, and more.
I bought this journal after some buzzfeed article about bullet journals sucked me in, I've always enjoyed notebooks, pens, and stationary items. I saw the article a while ago and only recently decided to purchase one. It's my first year teaching and there's a lot to keep up with. I noticed a lot of reviews referenced some spots on the notebook, mine didn't have any spots and was wrapped in a nice clear wrapper. It was really sturdy, it feels like it's made out of really thick cardboard with a faux leather feeling coating. I really love how vivid the color is (lemon yellow). It came with several stickers for the cover and spine (supposedly for archiving) I used one on the cover for my name. It also have a packet in the back that fits a small 7 inch ruler. Two different ribbon bookmarks.Another review said that the pages were thin. The pages didn't feel any thinner than most nice grade notebook paper (like mead). I uploaded a picture of my future log that is filled with several paint brushed colors (Tombow Dual Brush Pen Art Markers, Bright, 10-Pack in the next page you can see ghosting or shadows, but it doesn't ruin it at all. You can definitely use both sides. I also added a picture of my pen log with includes a gold Painters opaque paint marker which didn't bleed through the only one that I wouldn't use is the Sharpie Ultra fine point which did the most shadowing. I also used water color in the book to paint my months and there was minimal wrinkling and nothing on the other side of the page.Over all I really like this notebook the size is great, it's sturdy, the pages are well sewn in, there are a lot of pages, and the paper quality is good. The only draw backs would be if you like using sharpies then you may have some trouble with this journal. But all other pens including my fountain pen will hold up well with all sheet usable.

The Details and High Quality Sell This Notebook
Review of: "1917 Medium Size Hardcover Ruled Notebook, Black," by Leuchtturm.I purchased this notebook as an alternative to Moleskine which I had been using exclusively for about seventeen years now. I am very happy with my acquisition as I feel that it is an improvement to Moleskine as both are the same price. The manufacturer specifications list: "Numbered pages and blank table of contents for easy organization and notes. Thread-bound opens flat. Acid-free and ink proof paper, expandable pocket inside back cover, page marker and elastic closure. Stickers for labeling and archiving. 249 numbered pages, 8 perforated pages, 5.75 x 8.25 inches."I enjoyed the fact that the pages seem just a little thicker than what Moleskine uses. I love the numbered pages and the fill-in table of contents in addition to the date and subject line at the top of each page. The book is similar to Moleskine in that it has a back pocket along with very useful organization stickers to include front cover and spine stickers in order to label and archive. The book comes with two ribbons to organize an important area in the book along with the current page (or whatever is deemed important to the journalist). Like the Moleskines this book has an elastic band to hold the book closed. I use gel and other non-traditional ink pens which do show through to some degree from one side of the paper to the other. The pages feel like they are a higher quality though. By the way there are eight (8) perforated pages from pages 241-249 which can be removed quite easily for any reason. The fact that there is some bleed through in the pages is similar to the Moleskine products and should not be a deal breaker here. This book has a sturdy cover and the book lays quite flat for immediate use. The spine and binding appear to be very well constructed and sturdy. I have found my need for sturdiness to be quite high as by the end of the use the notebook is filled with clippings, papers, etc. in addition to being written in. I guess it serves as a scrapbook as well for the months in use. Having it hold together is a major selling point to me. In the final analysis I am giving the edge here to the Leuchtturm for its more solid and robust feel in addition to the details listed above such as numbered pages, etc. which set it apart from Moleskine. I will be using this journal again. I really like it at five stars.

Premium notebook that’s worth every cent
For anyone who loves to scribble things down like I do, this notebook is a dream. The paper and overall build quality feel genuinely premium, and you can tell it’s made to last. More expensive than a standard notebook, but the quality more than justifies the price. If you enjoy writing and appreciate a well-made notebook, it’s absolutely worth it.

Great for bullet journal
Would highly recommend for bullet journaling as you can design your own spread and change it however you like! I’m onto my second book and have never been able to consistently journal until now.
