Highly recommended! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Will take into group setting *by D***E on October 16, 2013* As a parent of teenagers, 17 and 14, it can be very hard to find the balance between too strict versus too relational with kids, knowing when to give grace and how to do it without being taken advantage of. It can also be hard to know when to step in, and when to let your child face trials and failure without rushing to rescue them all the time. Like many families in this era, I have no family around and few female mentors to lean on or ask for help. I've read a couple of great parenting books that have made a really good difference - either helping me understand teens, reassuring me I was doing okay, or helping me change course a little. The great thing about this one is the steps to take. Not just finish a book and hope some ideas stick, or try a few things, but regular things to do - and how to do it! Sometimes a concept in a book is great, but how to do it? This gives suggestions. Rather than consider these day to day steps, I treat them as step 1, step 2. That way, I can take a little longer on one if I want. The nice thing is taking the intentional actions, knowing they are biblically sound. There are ways to consider discipline, guiding kids, spending time with them, setting boundaries, praying for them.
