The boat has an electric box (small black box) in the rear of it... You just have to open it removing a few screws and once it's open you'll see were it goes... It's mark as RPM.The other end (sensor) goes right next to the motor, on top of the end of the shaft in a small hole that's design for it.

Where does the sensor end go?? On a stampede 2wd?

The gear cover on the transmission case has a slot. If you have an older Stampede without this, you would need the #3792 gear cover. The sensor reads a magnet which attaches to the spur gear using the #6538 magnet holder.

Will this work for a Traxxas hoss?

The problem is this: the Hoss uses a center diff with a metal gear and there's no way to mount a telemetry magnet to it--so there's nothing for this sensor to read.
