Your Island

My second born has never been as into books or being read to as my first. This book enraptured him. I read it two maybe three times then he took it out of my hands and READ IT BACK TO ME FROM MEMORY (he’s three). Immediately bought the rest of the series. Adorable.

Great book for the young reader.

Our child loves this book. We ended up buying all 3 in the series.

Your Island, Your Forest, and Your Farm are all adorable bedtime board books. The way the narrator addresses the reader and personalizes every item in the story evokes a comforting intimacy where the reader (listener) feels a connection to the setting and sees that it is indeed time to go to sleep. Why everything has eyes, I'm not totally sure, and that's not totally to my personal taste, but it does help show that everyone is sleeping and it is Klassen's beloved to style. This Klassen trio is endearing and I would absolutely select these for part of a toddler's bedtime routine if I were tucking someone in!

We just got these books in at our local library and they are so good. I love how each object is a freaky little creature with those spooky eyes. 10/10

This series is absolutely outstanding. I admittedly purchased from a local bookstore as I prefer to support our local community first. The illustrations are very well done, the text is so well received by my son, and the typeface was an excellent choice! It's clean, easy to enjoy with all young readers! Job well done, please keep creating magic like this! We need more of you in this world!

About the same as the "Your Farm" and "Your Forrest" books. Just seems like they replaced words... and didnt put effort into making a true new book.

Actually gets my child to happily go to sleep when nothing else does! The sleepiest book that we have.

I bought Your Island by Jon Klassen for my son and we are both obsessed with it. If you know Klassen's other stuff, it's got that same dry, minimalist art style with characters that just stare at you in the funniest way possible. My son thinks the pictures are hilarious, and it's a super chill, easy read for bedtime when you don't want anything too loud or chaotic. The pages are thick and hold up well to toddler abuse, and honestly, it's one of those kids' books that parents will actually enjoy reading ten times in a row without losing their minds. Definitely pick it up if you want something cute, clever, and a bit different.
