We have a turtle in a glass tank down the hall and in the bigger part of a large den, about 25 feet away.....and when the turtle moves in one end of its big water tank (the swimming end) the little red eared slider will turn on the light. The photo sensor to detect the light level to decide whether or not to let the light turn on when motion is detected, is set to turn on the light when it is just dim in the area, doesn't have to be really dark, which I am fine with. It does turn back off about 30 seconds after its on without motion, which is the main feature I was after.I put another one in the garage, I have two single bulb fixtures in there that had older motion bulbs installed before someone took one of them out moving a ladder or something tall. I put one of these in the spot that is farthest from the man-door to the back yard. This man-door has clear exterior door glass in the top half. And this new bulb has no problem seeing me move across the edge of the landing behind the garage outside THROUGH the glass about 25 feet away from the bulb.So in short, if you really really want to see if someone is trying to sneak around anywhere it is dark, hook one of these up and point the bottom of this bulb where they would have to cross anywhere in the same zip code and sit back and enjoy.On the other hand, this motion detection might be a bit too sensitive for your application and you might want to try another bulb for comparison. ### ⭐⭐ Need reactivated every 30 seconds - won’t stay on, even with motion *by J***I on Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2019* These lights turn on and off like strobe lights. They turn off after 30 seconds, even if you are standing right next to them, doing something and moving. They would be great for a closet or hallway you are only in for 30 seconds, but are terrible for a space where you actually need to be in the room and have light, unless you don’t mind jumping up and down and waving your arms every 30 seconds to turn the lights back on in the middle of what you are doing. It is impossible to work in the rooms where I installed these because the lights went out every 30 seconds, so I had to remove all of them within 2 days of installing them. I’m returning all of them and buying more expensive ones like the others I have so they actually stay on while I’m near them. My poor neighbors probably think I have strobe lights running in my house the past two nights from these turning on and off repeatedly every 30 seconds. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Sensitive sensor but not warm white *by O***T on Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2019* Because of the set up of my house, I wanted a warm white light that would light up my backyard when the dogs went out. The reason warm white was preferred was because we have a lot of glass doors and windows near the door and didn’t want the light to interfere too much with nighttime TV watching or just walking to the kitchen for water in the middle of the night—because it is sensitive enough to pick up movement in the house. The light is positioned on the exterior wall in a corner facing forward. It picks up movement in all locations except the 90 degrees that is blocked by the corner and exterior wall. This means movement in the house is picked up. So, it is very sensitive. Ultimately, for that reason I don’t think this will work for us. But if the light was further from the house or perhaps positioned differently, this would be nice.
