i would like the stopwatch to beep when you set it off as my husband is reg blind. does it beep or any recommendations? thanks

Yes the stopwatch beeps when you start and stop it but not when you set it back to zero.

What colour is the back light? Is it luminescent?

It's a muted off white colour. It doesn't give off any light. The black numerals and letters show up very well against it. The light that illuminates the face when you push the light button is an unattractive yellowish colour. That is the only thing I don't like about this watch but it does it's job and illuminates the display clearly in the dark.
