Great tool for laminate flooring install
First and foremost, if you install flooring without one of these devices, you are making life much harder on yourself than you need to. I have done it with a circular saw and with this tool, and this saves you so much in terms of time, steps, dust, noise, and sanity. You will still need a circular type saw for straight cutouts around obstacles and a jigsaw or band saw for curvy cuts, but you will do 90 percent of your cuts with this tool and it is pretty amazing. Now, the tool itself - Not sure why a tool that costs so much does not come fully assembled. Seems like a silly way for them to save a few bucks. That being said, the reviews here complaining about assembly are hogwash. If you follow the manual (admittedly, not the best written manual), it takes 3 minutes and works great. Use your own Phillips screwdriver. I used it for mid-grade wood laminate flooring. I did plenty of straight and angle cuts. The tool worked great, was easy and intuitive, and made this job super easy. It is fairly light and easy to carry around, yet heavy enough to stay put when you are cutting. I followed the manual and used my foot to steady the board and had no issue with sliding. I am on room 2 of a 3 room project, and so far have had zero issues with the blade or cutter. The cuts are fairly flawless, but depending on your flooring product, you may get a little top chipping around the cut of 1mm or so that won't affect your job unless you aren't using any molding or baseboard. I found that going faster with the handle improved the cuts and helped not tear the built in padding on the flooring I am using. I can't compare this to other cutters, as this is the only one I have used. I wouldn't do another flooring job without it, though. Overall, I am very satisfied.

Well worth the expense...
Just completed my first vinyl plank flooring installation (400 sq ft). This cutter made the job so much easier not to mention quicker. My son-in-law (who is a contractor and has installed many floors) assisted the first day and was totally impressed with the Norske cutter. My wife who has lost hand and grip strength was able to operate this and made many cuts throughout the installation. A must have !!!

Well worth it since I'm reflooring my entire house.
After watching youtube videos on scoring luxury vinyl planks with a knife and then snapping them off, I decided it was worth it to get a real tool, since I'm reflooring my entire house. I'm so glad I got this cutter. It is right there where I am working, it is quick and easy to use, and doesn't make a mess. The last thing you want when installing LVP is a bunch of tiny slivers of planking blowing around. The "table" is rather thin and flexible, so don't put any weight on it. Also, the fence is fixed at 90 degrees. You can cut at different angles, but just not using the fence. It cuts through LVP with ease. My wife is happy with the way it cuts as well; she does more cutting with it than I do. We are now halfway through my house and I have had to retighten the handle once, but the sharpness is still there.

So much cleaner and faster
This was well worth the money. Saves time, energy, and no dust! I used it to cut medium priced Trafficmaster laminate. Cuts straight. I had to cut face side up with keep side on platform. When I cut, the keep side on the platform cuts cleanly. The discard side had major chipping on the underside because it bends and snaps off. If you need to keep the discard piece, I suggest to create a makeshift platform on the discard side so that the laminate does not bend and drop when cutting. I've only needed to cut straight pieces. I use a jig saw or oscillating tool for complex cuts. I made the cuts in the bedroom I was fixing, and no dust! Saved time and mess from going outside to use a saw. Takes quite a bit of force to cut. Put your whole body weight into cutting and check the handle mount once in awhile.

If I were a professional, I would get better. Perfect for homeowner.
I did more than 1,000 square feet of floor. My main floor and my basement. I cut vinyl and laminate with this and cannot overstate the time and work this saved me. This machine cuts nice, straight edges. It is easy to use, and I did not need to burn through saw blades or take boards outside to cut. It was easy to pull, not easy enough for my kids to cut with it, but I could cut while sitting. I put an old towel under it to prevent it from scratching my floor and then used the towel to tow it along with me across the house. Buy this, it cuts in seconds, makes little mess, leaves a nice edge, and is lightweight. For the price, it will make your flooring project so much better. The reason I would not buy this as a professional is that I did flooring for a few weeks and there are bolts missing, it wobbles a bit now, and the blade is showing the wear. The blade should after this much cutting but was I to do this for a living, it wouldn't make it. Homeowners doing their own floor won't need it to do more than a house or two.

Great cutter!!
Reasonably priced tool for homeowners. Did one room laying vinyl laminate flooring using utility knife, jig saw to cut the planks. Messy and cuts not consistent using utility knife, Jig saw messy. Iโve got 4 rooms to go and knew there has got to be a faster, less messy, more accurate tool this is it. This tool provides Clean, crisp, fast cuts. Pro versions are 3-4 times the cost. This is a sturdy tool. Assembly was easy and fast. Highly recommend

Installing Hardie Plank? You need this...
I'm adding a 680 square foot addition to my house. Most of the work is individual contractors, but I decided to put the Hardie Plank siding on myself. Initially I bought a Diablo blade for my mitre saw for this purpose, set up the saw with the shop vac and wore a mask. The dust created is nasty. We'll just leave it at that. Anyway, I wish someone had told me about this type of device before I started the project. I was a ways into it when I discovered them, and I decided to give it a try. This thing is worth the money. The time and annoyance that it saved me would be hard to quantify. To be safe, every time you cut the planks with a power saw you have got to wear a respirator and eye protection. A dust mask really doesn't work for this. At one point my goggles weren't on quite right and a splinter of plank went in to my eye. I got it out with pipette and water that my wife uses for her CPAP. Anyway - when using the guillotine cutter I had no flying debris. No saw setup. It was awesome. Eventually I'll be making a YouTube video about my siding project. In the meantime, just remember. Healthier. Cleaner. Faster. Now, I will add that I still used the Diablo blade that I bought. I have a number of windows and doors I had to notch the planks for. But I'm telling you the price, $129 when I bought it, is no worth it that I'm not even mad that they're selling it for $20 less right now. I also bought a Norske Blade for my circular saw. My House has a 4:12 pitch roof and I discovered that this version (the 13") is nowhere near wide enough to make those angle cuts and neither was my 12" sliding mitre saw. My circular saw is a Dewalt 6 1/2" 20 volt and Diablo does not make a blade that fits. The Norske blade worked fine though. In the end, I still saved just about $6,000 doing this project myself. I'm also going to do laminate flooring in the addition, so I may update the review with that. One last note. My planks were 9 1/4" to match existing siding. Some of the cutters out there are narrower than that.

A big time saver for doing flooring
I admit to being a little skeptical about this cutter at first, but after completing the first room of flooring, I was totally sold on it. I started laying engineered hardwood flooring in the first of 5 rooms I was remodeling, using a miter saw to cut my boards to length. It didn't take long before I figured out there had to be a better way - I'm 72, and getting up and down every few minutes to run outside to the miter saw wasn't "cutting it" :} Then I saw a flooring cutter at Lowe's for about $130 and decided to check on Amazon. This one on Amazon was less expensive and had good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I was NOT disappointed! It cuts great, and the best part is I could use it in the same room I was installing the flooring - no big sawdust mess - and the amount of time it saved me by having it in the same room was huge. I was able to finish the other 4 rooms much quicker than the first one. I did make one minor modification - I glued felt pads to the feet so that I could slide it across my flooring without leaving scratches. Highly recommend this product - especially to DIYers. The blade remained sharp - especially after using the included honing stone per the instructions.

Clean, speedy & accurate cuts
Bought for a recent house renovation, using 12mm laminate throughout the ground floor. Cuts cleanly quickly, needing only a very quick rub over with some 300 grit sandpaper to remove any excess. Made an otherwise miserable job go very quickly.

Indispensable
Great purchase..made our LVP installation go much smoother than it would have been without it. Cuts cleanly, accurately, easily. Fast straight cuts with ability to do angles. Can keep it nearby so saves time. The blade has held up great after installing 650sqft so far. Comes with a sharpening stone but we haven't had to use that yet. Worth the cost! Edit: finished the remaining 600sqft and it held up perfectly. Still no need to sharpen!
