## Description

The cottontail rabbit is one of the target animals for Shake Away’sselling product, fox urine granules (also great for deterring groundhogs and possums). This product takes advantage of the predator-prey relationship and the prey animals' genetically programmed instinct of fear to provide a non-toxic, organic method to reduce and often eliminate pest browsing problems. The red fox is the most common, land-based predator of cottontail rabbits throughout its range. Rabbits avoid foxes' core areas when setting up their patterns to feed and raise their young. Shake Away provides an incredibly easy way to apply time-released, urine-impregnated granules in a fashion that simulates this core area. These granules are composed of a porous, swellable, inorganic mineral that is impervious to weather, and rainfall in particular. **Q: Does this product have to be re-applied after it rains?**
A: Our product generally withstands a light to moderate rain. However, if the rain is heavy enough to cause puddling or running water that might move the product, we would recommend a re-application in accordance with the directions.

**Q: How effective has this product been for those with skunks? I have one digging for grubs at the base of a tree.**
A: To get rid of grubs I put down Milky Spore granules as soon as the ground reaches a temp of 70degs which is when they come to the surface to feed and 3mo apart for 2 years in a row. The next time you apply it is in 20 YEARS...yes 20 years. It's a non toxic bacteria that targets grubs. Once ingested they explode which then release the bacteria and it goes on and on.  Grub X or any other toxic grub killer only last 3 months at best. Once Milky Spore has taken hold you shouldn't have any other critter looking for grubs again in your yard. The ground temp is very important. I learned something new, I set out a japanese beetle trap and check everyday without skipping, as soon as I see one in the trap I take it down and throw away...to not attack them to my yard...thats when I know to put down the Milky Spore. It's all in the timing.

**Q: Do you think this stuff would work for keeping muskrats from burrowing under my deck?**
A: The red fox is a predator of a muskrat, so the product should be effective, although it is not a pest animal that we have tested the product against. However, bear in mind -- and this generally applies to any pest animal -- in our experience animals often choose to burrow under decks or other covered and hard-to-reach areas for protection when nesting and giving birth/raising newborns. In a situation where a mother muskrat (or raccoon, rabbit, etc.) is protecting her young, it can be incredibly difficult to remove the pest animals using repellents alone. This is typically a situation where we'd recommend calling in a professional who can trap and remove the animal. Once the nest has been removed, the product can be applied to help prevent a return visit by the pest family.

**Q: Can this product be used to help in repelling foxes?**
A: I doubt it. I believe the product is fox urine which may attract more foxes.
