Amazing and easy to install
A huge upgrade from my TRP spyre mechanic disc brakes (160 mm). I just used the stock housing/cables and rotors. Pads take a couple of days to wear in properly, but once they do they bite hard. Went from barely being able to slow down with my rear spyre brake to being able to lock the wheel. The front spyre was much better than the rear but the TRP Hy/RD is noticeably better too.Fairly easy to install - the front caliper mount uses M5 screws that have a hex head as well as a hex socket, so you can use an 8 mm open-ended wrench or a 5 mm socket wrench. Because there is such a cramped space between the upper bolt and the caliper I couldn't fit a socket or hex key in there, had to use the 8 mm open wrench. I did note replace the existing rotors with the new ones, but it doesn't look very difficult, you just need a T25 torx bit. Always use a torque wrench to finish tightening bolts and screws, over-tightening can lead to broken screws/sockets, frame damage, and deformation of wheels. Before buying, make sure you know whether you need a flat mount or post mount version. This is the flat-mount version, which will need an adapter to fit a post-mount. Some people claim you need compressionless housing to get the most out of these, but I found my stock jagwire sport housing works just fine. When I eventually replace the cables I'll move to compressionless housing (e.g. jagwire pro), but it's definitely not necessary to benefit from HY/RD calipers. All around a fantastic upgrade for $150.
