Canon EOS 100D DSLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm III Lens - Black (18MP, CMOS Sensor) 3 inch Touch Screen LCD

We got this to replace our eos 350d- massive difference! The spec is the spec, have a look for yourself. The ease of use, the quality of output, the sound it makes are all incredible. And it's really light and innocuous, which you probably don't think is a big deal, but it is, so be pleased.

Great entry level dslr. You just have to mess about with it and find the perfect settings for each way you want to use it.

I see another reviewer put this up against his 5D2 - well I also bought this as a lightweight second body - for extreme travel photography, and as a fun thing for my son to play with between trips. So today I put it up against my 5D3 with some good zoom lenses (not prime). I also put this glass onto the 100D body, and took some shots in the sunny snow, and then some detailed studio shots. Both sets have left me deeply worried. This little camera with its cheap entry level zoom lens out performed my 5D3 in terms of sharpness, colour depth and general picture satisfaction at every level. When I put the L series glass (16-35, 24-105 70-200) onto the 100D the shots with its own 18-55 were better throughout. When I put them onto the 5D3 - the 100D with its own lens also performed better.(I cannot put the 18-55 onto the 5D3 as it its EF-S). On the other hand, I personally do not like the touch screen, especially the fact that I cannot turn it off, and I am not fond all the fancy filters. And it is not a sturdy build, my 5D3 has bumped around Africa and worked at -40C in Siberia without a hitch. But I was absolutely shocked at the quality of the images you get out of this little beast. Also, it is the perfect size for my 9 yr old son, who is setting up "still lives with teddy bears" at this very moment, absolutely delighted that "his" new camera takes better pictures than mine!!!

I recommend this beyond bounds for beginner photographers or people who want a durable camera to throw around. I have used it for 2 years now and have taken it around the world on various holiday trips, shot in the rain, dropped it from a roof and accidentally spray painted it yet it has remained intact and the only things i've had to replace are lenses. Auto focus is quick, easily navigable settings and the pop up flash make it great for street shots.

A beautiful camera,much lighter than the others.Nice touch screen which I have never had before.The pictures are brilliant.Very clear. Some people may call this an entry model but It is far better than my previous camera.Also a Canon.Cannot beat canon for a quality product..The price is very reasonable too on amazon.

I am enjoying getting to know the camera. Information and instruction discs supplied with the pack are useful in gaining a better understanding of how to get the most out of your pictures. Setting features in the camera is easy to do. Looks like the next acquisition will be anotehr lens to provide more options.

If you can walk holding a DSLR in one hand, standing ovation for you. Canon proves again, this baby is so light and so handy almost like a point and shoot. But it's a powerful cam. It's got everything and more a DSLR can ask. The lense kit is wide angle with auto stabilizer mode good for shooting videos. The options in dial is similar with any Canon DSLR but the touch screen gives an edge with changing manual settings. A must get DSLR to begin with for good photography.
