I have experienced little to no dust, but I take Jeremy S's point that perhaps some bags are dustier than others. I think the clumping is adequate, the odor control (WITHOUT perfume, thank heavens) is great, and tracking has been less than any of the clay, corn, or pine litters I've tried.Our cats are toilet trained, so we use almost no litter. I have a 34# bag (old SKU) that is almost empty and is probably 4 years old. We also have a 26# bag (this SKU) which is getting low, and which I bought and opened only because I stumbled on some new kittens which we are training now. I say all that to lead into my statement that this litter IS flushable. If you want to read an expanded version of my thoughts about this litter and toilet training, you can catch it in my review of this litter. Here, I just wanted to briefly address a few of the other comments. **Q: This litter was suggested today by a pet store clerk. I'm using "The worlds best litter" now. Has anybody used that and how does it compare to this?** A: I just switched from World's Best to this litter. I like World' Best a lot, but I'm switching my cats to non-grain food and decided to do the same with their litter. World's Best is made of corn. The walnut is a little grittier and I can tell that while scooping, but it's no big deal. It clumps about the same. The cats seem to like this better. I haven't used it for long, but there's been no odor even when the cats don't bury their poop. It also seems to track less. I haven't used it long enough to see a problem with staining. Since my floors are dark laminate, it would hardly show anyway. **Q: Can this be used with the breeze litter box?** A: I use it with the Breeze litter box. When changing the urine pad (I do it every 5-7 days), I do notice a lot of pellet 'residue' on the urine pad (they break up a lot easier when wet, as stated by a previous answer). Not that that really matters, as you'll throw those out when you replace the pad, anyway. My main problem is with their brown color, vs. the white/tan color of the Tidy Cat pellets, though some may consider that a positive. I prefer to add pellets as needed and only do a complete refill (& sanitize the box) every month, so I like to be able to 'spot' all the dirty pellets & remove them. That being said, I haven't noticed an odor problem or anything that would indicate these are less 'effective' than the Tidy Cat pellets. The price of these pellets as I write this answer is $5.89 for 14 lbs for Blue Buffalo, vs. $28 for 14 lbs (4 bags of 7 lbs @ $45.99) for the cheapest Tidy Cat pellets. It's an easy buy for me. **Q: What's the difference between the red bag and green bag?** A: I have 7 cats and use the red bag, I can tell you that when they do their business I can’t tell because it doesn’t smell at all!!! And I am so happy for it, I’ve been looking for one that does what the red bag does ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best litter ! *by N***A on April 27, 2023* I had 4 kittens & was learning all about how to care for them-they were only a lil over a month old!! Got this litter after realizing that small kittens should start off with pellets first because they can try to consume sandy litter (which they did try to do!) Immediately I came across this litter. Been using it for almost 2months now. This was a more natural & safer option for sure! The 26lb bag is soo big I couldn’t even carry it on my own at first! So worth the price for the quantity!! Also love that it’s all natural!! I feel so good knowing that. Oddly enough I really love the smell of it too lol. It definitely has an earthy aroma like many others mentioned. And it’s very easy to clean up compared to other litter- doesn’t track. It lasts a long time too! As a pregnant woman right now I usually have to end up cleaning my kittens litter boxes.. well I love that it masks the smell pretty good (when my kitties do good covering their poo) and it really does reduce the ammonia ! At first it was a little difficult to clean but then I learned that I just have to scoop out the poop-and if there’s parts that look dark (because of their urine) I scoop that out too. Then I mix the pellets up with the scooper & add a little fresh litter on top. I also scoop out the parts that break down into dirt. Then after almost two weeks you can change the whole thing! (The directions explain that a bit)I ended up giving two of my kittens to my sister once they learned to do things on their own & I sent them with this litter which they are still continuing to use for them. They love it & have never used or seen litter like this! I know it’s just litter but this is amazing litter & I plan on keeping them with this kind of litter & this brand! ***If you have small kittens & they are potty training- go with this one! So worth it & brings some peace of mind knowing it’s all from nature.. <3UPDATE (a several months later) ** : Now that my kitties have gotten a lil older & they are definitely a lot bigger, I had to switch them over to the quick clumping litter. I absolutely love it for them! & they cover their business a lot better now too. Honestly was easy & perfect timing to switch from the pellets to the quick clumping. They do amazing with this kind. My sisters ended up switching to regular litter for the kitties I gave them after a while because they didn’t want to keep paying this much for this kind. And they thought it didn’t mask the smell that good but they’re probably realizing the regular kind they have now doesn’t do any better and it has more harsh stuff in it. I notice such a huge difference with their litter vs mine. Mine (which is this brand-quick clumping) masks the smell alot better!! And doesn’t track as much as theirs. I definitely suggest once your kitties get a little bigger to switch from pellet to quick clumping. The price is worth it for me, my fur babies deserve the best & this is it. It took alot for me to train my kitties when they were tiny to use the pellets but I had the time & I succeeded. It was an easy breezy beautiful transition to the quick clumping kind! Lol ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best litter ever, everything I've wishedfor *by A***L on July 20, 2025* This is a true and honest review, i want the reader to know that because you might doubt, but Im sincere. I LOVE love love this stuff! It does not track!! No perfume, No dust clouds, perfect odor control, clumps well without that clay stickiness, stays clean, looks like dirt, lasts longer than tidy cats. i like that in the landfill it'll break down better than clay, and that it's delivered bagged, not in plastic jug that fills landfills. No scrubbing litter box to clean it!! No soaking or chipping away at hardened clay, just wipe sides of box and rinse! Amazing. Downsides: it's different to scoop because it's dense and doesn't sift through my scoop basket like Tidy Cats, also, because it's dense and dark I find it a little difficult to spot the leavings and any little crumbs unless I have bright light; so, it takes more time to scoop. I add baking soda because the organic nature has a natural earthy smell that I don't like, doubt I'd notice it in a different room. Note: This doesn't mix well with tidy cats. To switch your cat to this, set up another box with only this, after your cats get used to it replace the clay litter with this. It took a month for my cats. I tried all of the unscented formulas, for the hardest clumps I use Quick clumping. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better and safer litter option that works great *by H***E on July 12, 2025* Thus walnut litter is nit perfect, but it’s safer and healthier than clay and gel crystals. My cats have serious allergies and need something safer so this litter does the trick. It definitely kicks up a ton of litter dust. It gets everywhere where the litter box is enclosed, even to the walls and baseboards around it. So be mindful of the dust. But it’s better than breathing in clay dust. It does track as well. I see trails of this litter everywhere but not as bad as clay. I don’t think there’s anything truly dust free or track free. The reason I continue to buy this is because my cats allergies from the old clay is gone. They don’t sneeze after using the box anymore. The clumping isn’t like clay clumping however, it does clump well enough to not waste this litter too. As far as odor, I feel if they have a stinky poo you smell it monastery what you use. I do not smell pee at all though.
