Great standing desk
I bought mine on Amazon Warehouse and it had a note that the package would be damaged. When I got it, the box was pretty beat up, but I have to give a lot of credit to the people that designed the packing, the desk was perfect. The shipping & packing materials can obviously take a pounding! The desk went together easily for something as complicated as a standing desk. The instructions were clear, all the tools and parts were included, I had it assembled by myself in about an hour. The whole thing is easily adjustable. Others have noted that once you get it together it's hard to re-adjust, and that's definitely true. But it's incredibly strong & solid. Once it's together, it's not going to get loose or come apart.I'm really happy with this desk, I think it's the best I could have gotten, anywhere near this price!

Stable and solidly made
I got this to use as a treadmill desk (with a narrow treadmill slid underneath), and so far it's working perfectly. It was easy enough to assemble -- just be sure to look closely at the instructions so the pieces are all facing the right way. I'm about 6'1", so I was worried the desk might not be tall enough while I'm standing on a treadmill, but it's just fine. At the highest I was comfortable putting the top surface, it's just tall enough to put the keyboard tray about even with my elbows. It seems like quite a well-made desk, and is solid and sturdy. It wobbles a little on soft carpet, but doesn't seem at any risk for falling over.My one complaint (which isn't enough to dock a full star from my rating) is that the sliding keyboard tray slides in too easily. There's some resistance to prevent it from sliding out by accident, but once it's out it glides back and forth with the slightest pressure. I ended up just leaving the tray in most of the time and putting my hands under the top desk to type, but it's slightly annoying. Also, as others have mentioned, it's not wide enough for both a full-size keyboard and mousepad. I have the mouse on the top surface, so the keyboard is alone on the sliding tray (also, that allows the main part of the keyboard to be centered, with the numpad to the right). On the whole, I'm quite satisfied.

Pretty sturdy and does the job
UPDATE 4/27/2012: Since posting this review, I have upgraded to a Lifespan Treadmill desk. I just posted a review of it, but I'll just say here that if you have the extra cash to spare, I would seriously recommend skipping this desk and going for the treadmill desk :) I never quite got used to standing in one place, but walking is a lot easier (and burns more calories too).*******************************************************************First of all, ignore the reviewers who said this desk is not adjustable. They're either smoking crack, or were shipped the wrong product. My impression of the desk is overall positive, except that the keyboard tray is not quite wide enough. This won't be a problem for those who use a trackball, but for mouse users, it is a bit cramped. And you're probably not going to fit two large monitors on top of this thing either. Also, one of the reasons I bought this desk is because of back/shoulder pain from prolonged sitting in front of the computer, but all this desk really did was transfer the pain to a different part of my back/shoulder, so I have found that a combination of sitting/standing works well. Thus, I'd recommend having a regular desk in addition to this one, with a monitor on each one, where the desktop is mirrored, so you can switch back and forth. That's how I have mine set up.The desk itself is not too difficult to put together, although having two people makes it a lot easier. And best to have it adjusted exactly the way you want it when you first put it together, because having to readjust it would be a bit of a pain. I would recommend to set it up just slightly HIGHER than you think you'll need it.One last thought - I had asked another reviewer before ordering this thing whether it might be possible to use this with a treadmill. He thought it might be, but I personally wouldn't try it, esp because it isn't wide enough. For that, I'd recommend checking out the Fitdesk instead.

the construction is sturdy, the materials are quality
I have researched many standing desks, and tried tabletop risers, and keep coming back to this one. You can't beat it for the price and utility. Have purchased two of these models, one for home and one for work. Others at my office have also purchased this desk because it is so practical. The height is adjustable, the construction is sturdy, the materials are quality. Wheels roll well and lock. It is large enough that you can place books or folders next to you for working out of, and other materials you're referencing on the shelves below. Have used this desk more than a year now for about 5 hours each day of the week and it looks just as good as it did Day 1.

A terrific standing desk option
Really liked this desk. No it is not adjustable as in "sit to stand". You assemble it at one height and probably leave it there. But as a small footprint, low-wobble, everything you need in a standing desk for a great price, I'm very happy.Assembled quickly, supports my dual monitor arms, supports both big screens at my 6' eye level and tucks into a very shallow space. I don't need a convertible desk - this fits what I need perfectly.

Nice Desk – Not Super High Quality
We needed a standing desk for our office scanner, and this one fits the bill pretty well. It looks sturdy and has clean lines. However, I noticed some drawbacks:- The casters were almost impossible to lock into place. They fell out many times before a co-worker finally jammed them in using brute force.- The height of the desktop is adjustable, but instead of having pins that would lock the desktop in place at varying levels (like many adjustable card tables), there are 4 screws that, when tightened, squeeze the desktop assembly and supposedly hold it at the level you choose. Due to this loosey goosey apparatus, it is nearly impossible to level the desktop. I got out a bubble level and made adjustments, but then it slipped a little once we put weight on it. Lesson: once you finally get it level, tighten those screws will all you've got.- The desktop is covered with veneers on all sides. One long end came damaged with a ½ inch of the veneer missing. Luckily it’s going against a wall so I was able to hide it... but the manufacturer could have done a better quality check.Overall, I think this desk will work for the office, but it certainly could have been made better.

Quick delivery and met my expectations
I prefer to stand and work at my computer. I am 6'3". I can't speak for anyone taller than me since I needed to extend the desk to its upper height to reach the level I need. That being said, I'm pretty sure average and even slightly above average height people will be pleased with this desk.I like the keyboard drawer which I actually use for a WACOM drawing tablet and keep my keyboard on the upper desk along with my all-in-one iMac computer. As an added bonus there are 2 shelves below which I use for my printer/copy/scan machine and below that my modem, Wi-fi router and other miscellaneous accessories. The only thing I would suggest to the manufacturer's is a cover on the back of the unit to shield and hide the cables as I prefer to face into the room and the cables are not only visible but could be inadvertently pulled, etc.I researched SAFCO's website and they make some other phenomenal workstations and desk but are VERY pricey. So finally, I would like to add that the price I paid for this was well below what they have listed on the manufacturer's website.Great desk

OMG! This standing desk is a falling hazard.
Someone asked if this desk is good for a 5 feet person. My answer is no. The item description states that the desk top can be as low as 35 inches and about 28 inches from my experience when you don't install the wheels. It may overcome the issue of tipping due to a much lower center of gravity, but it does not resolve the issue of a poor locking system that does not lock the tubes from sliding down over time and the extreme difficulty to tigthen the screw. This Safco adjustable desk uses very light hollow tubes and probably depends on the heavier veneer boards to push it down.I recommend:For toddlers to short adults:On Amazon as well as online stores such as Office Depot, the Bush Series C Adjustable Height Mobile Table in Warm Oak for around $228 shipped is a great desk/table for shorter people. The description states that it can adjust from 26 5/8" to 34 5/8". I used this table at my previous workplace as they did want to spend as much as the out of production Herman Miller adjustable table. It is suprisingly very sturdy and it looks great for less than $300 as the table is sturdy and heavy. For the cost conscious & practical person:At the Human Solutions website, the Uplift 445 Laminate Electric Stand Desk starting at $749 with free shipping for the small model. I am currently using it, but it does take about 2-3 weeks to ship. It moves up and down using an electric motor. For big spenders and people who like style:Steelcase Air Touch for $1499. It moves up and down by squeezing a level and using your arm to lift & to push down.At Ohio Design website, the Adler desk for $1950 which should be handcrafted in San Francisco. it uses a hand crank to lift up & down but the desk top measures 60 inches in length.*38-40 inches in length is more than enough for teens and adults as you can put two laptops side by side and still have enough room for putting a mouse.**43" inches in height is good for average people around 6 foot high.***I like non-electric adjustable desks like the Steelcase Air Touch and Ohio Design Adler desks because they will work after years of non-use. With an electric motor, I am afraid they will rust and cause it to stop working.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Update - I am returning this after 1 day.I was too tired last night to move the standing desk to the permanent spot. The next day, I need to erase something on a piece of paper and the whole desk starts wobbling. As I have a 5 year old son, any bumps to the desk will cause a monitor and this desk to fall down. I will assume this desk is bad for families with elderly people, clumsy people, people with two left feet, people whole drink a lot & etc.Just look at the desk, the horizontal bars on the bottom are too short for such a tall desk. A 15 year old could have told the person who designed this desk that there is an extremely high possibility of this desk tipping over for everyday of use.*My $900 standing desk from Human Solution is sturdy and solid. The metal used is heavy, strong, and will not tilt. The horizontal bars on the bottom are long with two rollers at the rear for easy moving when you tilt it. The desk top is maple in color with two openings on the rear end for cords. You get what you pay for. But for this desk, this will cause emergency room accidents.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Material - Material is cheap & light.Look - Composite wood color is dark. Rollers are useless and dangerous on rugs as it is a tipping hazard. The two long plastic rectangular side pieces were useless and I threw them away.Assemble time - 2 hours by 1 person. There were 2 issues in assembly with following the instructions. 1. Sticking the boards on as the instructions state will take the boards stick at an angle. 2. Tightening all screws will not allow you to install the top piece of the desk.Oh how I wish I could afford the Steelcase Air Touch desk. With nothing in the $500 range for a standing desk, I had to settle for this. I am not statisfied but I could not afford to spend $1700 for the Steelcase Air Touch desk and the ones in between are ok also. I have a $900 standing desk, but I didn't like the composite top and didn't like the electric motor that much.I don't recommend installing the rollers because the rollers do not lock into the metal bolt. When pushed on the rug, the desk will tilt with the rollers coming off as the rollers are not locked into the metal bolt. The desk overall is very light, which is not good for a desk as it is a tilting hazard. By taking away the rollers, it is less likely to tilt enough to fall. Don't worry about the height, the adjustable top can go up to my chest. The best way to install this and to save 30-45 minutes is from the instructions below.1. Don't tighten the screws on the side.2. Don't use the 2 sided tapes.3. Don't install the keyboard tray until you tighten everything.4. Screw but don't tighten the top desk piece and place into the slots.5. Place low & middle boards in position without the tapes.6. Tighten side screws.7. Tighten top desk piece.8. Install keyboard tray.

Good Value
The workstation is delivered in a flat pack. At first glance the assembly instructions look a little complicated but in practice they are easy to follow and the workstation can be assembled quickly and easily. The unit is well built. The table height is infinitely adjustable and a relatively light monitor can be left in place while making the adjustment. However it's not really designed for use by two people of different heights as the adjustment is fiddly. Compared with other standing pc workstations I have looked at I believe this item is good value for money.
