They're the same as the frida windis, just cheaper and more cost effective. For the newborn phase when our baby was learning to poop/pass gas, these were vital - especially when it was 11pm at night and she was just some farts away from finally going to sleep. We use aquaphor or vaseline as a lubricant for the tip. She's never shown any discomfort when using them. The one thing to be cautious of is reliance on these as baby gets older. Once she was past ~6 weeks we noticed that everytime we used one, she would need one every day after that for a few days to pass any gas or poop. We've tried to wean her off of them and it was worth it, so now we only use one if it's late at night and her gas is preventing her from being comfortable.
