It runs great πŸ‘ πŸ‘Œ ### ⭐ Missing EMMC and requisite maskrom button for installing the OS *by L***O on May 8, 2025* Missing EMMC chip and maskrom button... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fast for its size but pricey and video playing not smooth *by E***K on April 25, 2025* The hardware is fast, but does get very hot when under a heavy load. You will want a good heat sink or better yet, a heat sink with fans. The official Radxa heat sink is inadequate, does not stay attached, and does not support fans. The heat sink and fans for the Raspberry Pi Zero or Zero 2 work fine. The only supported Linux is downloaded from Radxa's web site and it is based on Debian Bookworm KDE. Check my post on Linux Questions with bug fixes and installation details. I was unable to get a Waveshare 4 inch HDMI display to work with it because of errors from the graphics driver. You cannot update the OS normally. You must use a Radxa update utility or the OS starts having issues like not shutting down. I got XRDP to work but that required editing three files and a lot of web searching. Also, I could not get Pipewire audio to work properly through Bluetooth. I had to switch to using Pulseaudio that is not officially supported by Radxa. The most disappointing thing was the lack of updated and needed information from Radxa. Their forum is invitation only, which is probably an anti-spam measure, but it effectively prevents anyone from posting helpful information except those who have already registered. Radxa is obviously trying to be a high-performance ARM single-board provider. The less expensive boards like the Zero 3W seem to be an afterthought based on the lack of information and lack of cooling options. For the money, it is better to use a Raspberry Pi 5 and get the solid Linux OS plus support resources to go with it. Some of the Orange Pi products based on Allwinner chips are supported well by open source Linux.
