XTOOL IP500 for Jeep OBD2 Scanner, Full Systems Bidirectional Scan Tool

I was skeptical at first that this would be able to read and clear the codes from the high voltage charging system on my PHEV (2024 Dodge Hornet RT), but it worked FLAWLESSLY. Setup and updates were super simple, and the unlocking the FCA secure gateway through AutoAuth worked like a charm. It cleared my issue (locked out from AC charging because I attempted try to charge too many times from a faulty charger, so it latched and disabled charging as a safety precaution) and I was up and charging again just fine. Saved me a trip to the dealer and dealing with all that. Now i have this amazing tool in my trunk for whenever something comes up, and I can self diagnose before taking it to the service center. The peace of mind and value for money this feature packed scanner gave me made my day.

Great tool and very easy to use, even for someone who is not thoroughly versed. Just make sure that the fix you want to use it for actually works. For instance, the AutoAuth did not work on this tool (possibly because of my make and model), and I could not log in for my particular car.

If you don’t broadcast your WiFi SSID, this thing cannot find nor connect to the network even if you add the network manually. Once you are connected to WiFi and you connect to your car’s port, it will try and fail to have you login to be able to use the diagnostics. No clue how I managed to get around this, but I finally got the code read and cleared. This unit is the least user friendly obd2 setup I’ve had the misfortune of using. I would not recommend it. 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee - the car I used it on after much swearing.

Not exactly what I thought, it doesn't clear codes

Had several codes on my 2016 wrangler, unit identified the jeep and listed all current and saved codes. I was able to fix and clear all codes and worked great.

I purchased this OBD scanner to help me diagnose my recent vehicle purchase. We just purchased a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, and as most of you know, today's Vehicle manufacturers load them full of Electronics and Complex mechanical systems requiring more than just basic Automotive knowledge. I decided to treat my toolbox to a new gadget and spent the money on this Scanner. After doing some AI research and reading through multiple reviews, I opted for the Xtool brand and model. This is Vehicle Manufacture specific, so!!!!! Be careful to order the one for your specific Vehicle. This one is a IP-500cdj [Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep]. I liked it so much that a week later, I bought a more upscale unit that covers multiple manufacturers, both foreign and domestic. This allows me to diagnose and repair my Toyota and Lexus as well.

As per photos I have found XTOOL to be a top business to deal with. Logan has been wonderful to me & has helped me every step of the way. I feel he has gone way beyond what was expected. I would recommend them to everyone who wants diagnostic tools. Irving Stevens

A scan tool for Chrysler/Dodge vehicles which eliminates the need to buy special wiring cables and having to take apart your dash or other hidden hard to reach area where the connector harnesses are hidden! Great value and it works. I bought this unit because every time my Jeep Grand Cherokee check engine light comes on the dealerships always charges an exorbitant fee to scan the system. I used the Xtool to scan for a recent check engine light because I had the Jeep in to two different dealerships for work and I wanted to know if the current problem might be related to something done at one of the shops. The scanner gave me enough information that I was able to do some internet searches to see how DIY mechanics dealt with the issue reported. Bottom line is that I found some solutions to try that worked for others that might save me a trip to the dealership for an expensive repair. The customer service from Xtool has been fantastic. They respond quickly to questions and are very helpful with the answers. I don't regret this purchase at all and I'm sure it will be very helpful in the future.
