How think is the blade? I am worried about it potentially snapping.** A: I have had a few of these and have broken one of the blades. It broke when I was driving a peice of heavy machinery after I was thrown up and I came back down on it. The blade broke inside the sheath and the knife stayed safely in place. I did sharpen the back side to make it double edged so that may have compromised it, but I may have been injured if it had not snapped. So overall I appreciate it's not a quarter inch thick. I have carried these knives about every day for years and haven't found a better knife to carry for what I carry it for. I've had several knives all under $100 and none of them meet my needs as much as this one for a double sided knife. I keep it concealed so it isn't always in the most comfortable place, but I can dispatch it quickly and I have no doubt it would do enough devastating damage to stop a threat. About the only issue I've had with him beyond this is after taking it out of the sheath possibly a thousand times, the retainage diminishes. Even at that point it still stays in better than some knives that are brand new. For me this takes years since I don't take it out of the sheath very often and for the price I don't mind replacing it.
