Review: This is a very sturdy, very powerful and very quiet food processor. I think it’s the third food processor I’ve owned. I am enjoying the larger bowl size for sure. So far I have used it to make pico de gallo and shredded cabbage for coleslaw and cut onions for hotdogs. It did a great job for all of it. I used the chopping blade for the pico de Gallo and the onions. And I used the shredding disk attachment for the cabbage for the slaw. At first, I couldn’t get it to turn on, ☺️ but, that’s because I had the feeder tube too full for the metal spine on the back of the pusher to completely engage the safety feature. The biggest drawback I see is the way the safety feature on the lid is designed. The safety mechanism is sort of open but at the same time closed if that makes any sense. It’s open enough for stuff to get in there and closed enough for you to have a hard time getting food particles out. You may want to just check and be sure that there’s no food particles On the metal safety spine on the food pusher that you’ll push down into the safety channel on the lid. Otherwise, you will play the game of rinsing and turning it upside down and swishing it/ flipping while holding the white thingy open until you can get the food particle to come out of it. There may be a trick to this I haven’t figured out yet. So far, I really like this processor, And, the prices for extra attachments on the Cuisinart website are very, very competitive with free shipping.
Review: I bought this 14-cup processor to replace my 35+ year old DLC-7E. It died when the plastic bowl broke from plastic fatigue. There have been several improvements over the decades. The large diameter feed tube system is now fed from the top. Rather than the side and can handle a 1 pound potato. The safety interlock system is much improved as well. The large tube feeder plunger has a hefty “pin” at the back which is inserted into the interlock. This limits the height to about 3”, not a negative but something of which to be aware. On the not great side the power cord is a mere 27” as compared to my old unit length of 62”. Note to Cuisanart accountants: the $5 saved by shortening the power cord saves nothing on a $250 unit. Note to Cuisanart engineers: test your design in a real kitchen before finalizing it. 27” is slightly (3”) longer than the distance from the splash board to the edge of the countertop. This severely limits where the food processor can be safely used. Particularly when the electrical outlet is not optimally situated. Your customers now need an extension cord, not a safe situation in a kitchen. Lastly be aware parts are expensive. A replacement blade or a new shredding disk are $60 apiece, each 25% of the original purchase price. Yikes!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this model the same as or different from cuisinart dfp-14bcn (no y at end of the model number)?**
A: model number DFP-14BCN has recalled riveted blades. The food processor base shows DFP-14BCN but they added a Y to the box so that they could sell it as DFP-14BCNY. This is false advertising.

**Q: this is the model highest rated by ci and atk. so is anyone else ready to rant about the safety feature getting all gross with food? true or false?**
A: I don't get it. We love this food processor but can't stand to wash it. Would not put it in the dishwasher. Everything gets stuck in the top and in the mechanism for the top. And it's clear plastic so you can see all the food caught in there, but there is no way to get it out. We can't figure out how it gets in there in the first place. We use the machine as directed. We wash it immediately after use every single time. I try to use the spray at the sink to get the debris out, doesn't help. Tried soaking it. Tried just at least spraying vinegar inside it to prevent bacteria from building up. We have only had it 5 years and have wanted to replace the bowl and top and Cuisinart is out of stock. And I saw them on sale on Amazon for $45. for just the bowl. And the food processor has gone up in price by $50. since we bought it in 2015. So, I am now actively looking for a replacement for this machine, even though it's still working fine. I can't deal with the clean up any more. Or with what I consider a health hazard having all that debris in there fermenting.

**Q: Anyone know the difference between the dlc-10s and the newer dlc-10sy model?**
A: Yes, the 10SY does not have the riveted blade that was recalled from the 10S (and others) back in December 2016.

**Q: How thin does cabbage come**
A: Has anyone used the 2mm blade (sold separately) to slice cabbage for coleslaw? Not sure if the included 4mm slicing blade is the only size I'll need. Thanks

My new food processor works like a dream. Easy to clean, easy to use and easy to store. Great value for the cost. The powerful motor makes quick work in slicing, shredding or chopping of vegetables and cheese. For me, the size is perfect for my needs. I bought this particular machine on the recommendation from American’s Test Kitchen and it’s been a great success! Now one thing I wish this machine had would have been storage for the slicing and shredding blades.
