Our vet recommended a tablet that contained various ingredients to support the liver. The tablet brought his enzymes down, but, it is very expensive for a months supply, and on some days I would find the soggy tablet later in the day hidden near the fridge freezer. Reading reviews online, I became aware of several customers who had similar issues , and had tried the Maxxi SAMe instead with great results. Had a good read up, the SAMe quantity was identical, with silybjn too, from a different source, but also several other excellent ingredients , such as vitamin B12, B6, B1, B2 inositol, and choline. These are very important for nervous system and brain function. Plus the fact , that the tub is very generous for the money. So you get more benefit for a far more resonable cost . My dog has 1/4 scoop twice a day ,which is 1.25 gms for his weight of 6.6 kg. I purchased this tub in March and will need my next tub in July . The final clincher for this product, is the advice and customer service from the manufacturer. They have a great website with a dedicated phone line. When I phoned to discuss withholding Maxxi Cardio for a few days before his dental surgery, they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It's unusual, in my experience, to find people so invested in getting products that benefit pets. This is possibly because they all are pet owners and use these products themselves. I also had a very nice follow up email regarding dosage of Maxxi Joint for my younger dachshund. Milo had routine bloods taken before his dental in May, since he is almost 15 and surgery not without risk . Our vet stated that for his age, the bloods were good, and liver enzymes are now only mildly elevated, which is as expected for his age and pancreatic issues. Our vet was even more impressed with his recovery at his 10 day post op check , as were we. He is a different dog and I am convinced that introducing Maxxi Cardio (which I have also reviewed) was crucial to his well being as he had become quite weak with a heart murmur. If you are tempted to try the Maxxi Paws products, then contact with the customer service will no doubt help your decision, and give you good guidance.
