I had to help her the first time but she was able to do it herself with ease and no help. She did say she personally thinks the instructions are wrong that some of the items you need to do faster than what the time says on the instructions but I think that is more about preference. The first one she put in did not last that long but the most recent time it lasted about 3 months (although it is not recommended to use it that long we all know our mothers old enough to wear dentures like to make things last as long as possible lol.)
