I got aptx adaptive working with that adapter. **Q: It works with ps5?** A: NO. It stays in HFP mode and all audio sounds terrible. Do not buy this for the PS5. **Q: Can this be plugged into a dac like the btr5 to add aptx adaptive as a codec option?** A: I have not plugged this into a Dac, however your computer views it as a USB audio device. So as long as your DAC supports USB audio I can't see any reasons it would not work. No software is needed. I bought it with the specific intention of Bluetooth streaming audio from my device to my hearing aids, but it didn't work because there are very specific digital protocols involved, plus the ageing Bluetooth in my device wasn't up to it.
