7830730 Stops Rust Rust Reformer Formula, 8 oz, Black

I’ve used this product before and am using it again because it works well. Does turn rust into primer. Off course if you don’t want a crusty finish, you’ll need to sand, then treat. But I’ve had good luck with it on multiple occasions.

This is an old car door part untouched for 36 years and completely frosted with soft powdery rust. Two coats of this rust goop brushed on with a cheap chip brush and a few hours in a warm oven and this is what it looks like. So much rust that it even got brushed onto the white plastic lugs as a slurry. Nice and hard. Don't criticize this for not being a finish coat. It ain't. It's a surface treatment that depends entirely on what sort of rust you have. If you want pretty, buy some actual paint.

ONE OTHER THING,ONLY POUR OUT IN A SEPERATE CONTAINER JUST WHAT YOU NEED AND NEVER,EVER POUR THE REMAINING PRODUCT BACK INTO THE ORIGINAL BOTTLE. YOU WILL CONTAMINATE IT,AND YOU MIGHT AS WELL THROW IT OUT. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS,USE A GOOD OIL-BASED RUSTOLEUM PRIMER AND A GOOD OIL-BASED RUSTOLEUM OVERCOAT.I USE THE SAME COLORS FOR BOTH,SO I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LATER TOUCH-UPS. I USE A STIFF WIRE BRUSH AND MY DRILL WITH SANDING ATTACHMENTS TO REMOVE THE SURFACE RUST. I ALSO USE AN AEROSOL DUST REMOVER TO CLEAN OUT HARD-TO REACH PLACES. HARD WORK,BUT THE RESULTS WILL LAST YEARS!!!!

THIS RUST REFORMER WORKED GREAT IN THE PAST AND HAVE NEW PROJECTS FOR IT TO PERFORM IT'S MIRACLE ON.

I have used several products on my metal garden accessories. this one I like the best. It is easy to use, not messy and drys quickly. It is paintable and sticks to the metal will or stops the rust. I'm not sure how it works but it does it well. i have used it on old metal garden stakes, signs, chairs/tables and other items. Then i repaint them for new garden life.

My brother told me about this more than a decade ago. I tell lots of people to use this. Really good for stopping the rust from spreading. If the item is also black, I often don’t have to touch up the paint. I keep it on hand for regular use on garden items.

Seems like a great product. Seems to really attack and seal rusty surface. A little goes a long way.

Paints on white, dries clear, didn't turn a single spot of rust black like it advertises. The only black spots in my picture are from the spray can I used for the cavities at the ends. Buy the spray cans instead, they seem to work slightly better, and at least spray gloss black and dry to a matte finish. Ventillate like crazy though, it will suffocate you and overspray like crazy.
