**Q: When I hook it up to play there is music for a second or two and then no music for a second or two. This repeats itself over and over again. Ideas?**
A: I do not have that problem with this device, HOWEVER, I do have that very same problem with another SMSL dac ( M500 MKII), and I have not been able to figure out why this happens. I do not use Windows, and I only play wav files with Linux based software, and Linux operating system. Make your own conclusions.

**Q: how come the output voltage is so low when I connect it to the optical on my TV?  I thought the output was suppose to be 2 Vrms.**
A: only tried whit coaxial in rca out

**Q: Without a separate power input, how much faster does the battery drain on the cell phone?**
A: It consumes very low energy. I don't use it via USB. I haven't tested it.

**Q: I'd like to listen to one of those new MQA-encoded CDs. Will the optical output of my legacy CD player pass the MQA-encoded signal to this SMSL?**
A: Yes, because the SMSL is reading, converting the signal and your legacy CD player is functioning as a transport only.

同軸または光デジタル入力がありMQAフルデコード可能なDACを物色していましたら、ドンピシャ仕様の本機に行き当たりました。ただ既に使われているユーザさんからMQA-CDは冒頭で音切れが発生するというコメントが複数あり、それが気がかりでした。思い切って購入して試聴したところ以下の様な結果となりました。☆拙宅での再生経路☆（１）ミュージック用ＮＡＳ（I-OデータSound genic）リッピングデータ再生・USB出力→SA-12(マランツ)のUSB DAC入力・SA-12の光デジタル出力→【SMSL SU-1；本機】ライン出力→プリアンプ・メインアンプ　※ファイル形式はＡＩＦＦです。（２）SA-12でディスク再生／SA-12の光デジタル出力→【SMSL SU-1；本機】ライン出力→プリアンプ・メインアンプ（１）の場合；MAQ-CD冒頭で０．２～０．３秒程度の音切れが発生（MQA有無をチェックしている様子）（２）の場合；MAQ-CD冒頭から青LEDが点灯し、音切れはなし前者の場合でもほとんど気にならないレベルのものと思いますが、ディスクで再生すれば全く大丈夫なので通常はこちらを使おうと思います。（付記）普段聴いているマランツのCDプレーヤー内蔵DACと比べると機器特有の味付けがないためか、本機の音質は生真面目なややあっさりした感じです。MQA-CDはちゃんとデコードされたハイレゾらしく、音像が小さく定位がはっきりして生々しい感じですが聴き方によってはそっけない音といえるかも知れません。MQAフルデコード可能DACは高価な製品も多いので、コスパ抜群の本機は手軽に楽しめる「買い」の機器だと思います。

初めてDACというものをアンプに付けて使った。CDプレーヤーと中華アンプの間に挟むだけ。DACと中華アンプを合わせても、DVDのケースくらいの大きさだ。かつての重厚長大なアンプとは大違い。しかも値段が数千円から数万円だ。お財布にとてもやさしい。早速、名機ダイヤトーンで視聴。あら不思議！通常CDがSACD以上の音質で出て来るじゃない。しかも音が澄んでいる。迫力があり、音が美しい。もうSACDは要らないな。早く買うんだった。DACを付けるのが面倒なら、DAC内臓のアンプもあるよ。我々庶民にもハイエンドオーディオ並みの音質で音楽が楽しめるようになった。名機オールドダイヤトーンをよみがえさせたDACに大拍手！！！ブランドにこだわらないなら、音楽を楽しむのにはこれで十二分です。
