Very often before I had these little bluapples the peppers would go moldy and soft very quickly. I also found this helps celery not to go bad as fast. So dinner was a success because the vegetables were still looking good! I have one of these little apples in the vegetable drawer and one in the fruit drawer. I think keeping everything separate that way is advised! I got a bag of replacement packages so I don't run out! Marking the replacement day down on your calendar is key or you can sign up for notifications I guess. I'm happy with these and I can already see how they are going to save me a lot of money. It sounds like these oxidize the ethylene, breaking down the permanganate and turning the zeolite into manganese dioxide, a mineral compound that can be used as a fertilizer. So after these are spent, you can sprinkle the sachet contents on your plants. **Q: Does all the fruits or vegetables need to be fully exposed in drawers?** A: I keep bags of green beans, etc. in plastic bags in the refrigerator bins with these Bluapple balls, and they too last much longer with the balls in the bins. So I'd say no, veggies and/or fruit don't need to be exposed. **Q: Each packet is said to last for 3 months. So how do the 6 packets not used the first 3 months last for subsequent months?** A: The packets, when in use, last 3 months. The remaining packets should be kept in an airtight container, like the bag they came in.
