## Description

Review: Good BIM for LifePO4 installation - I wanted to convert my lead acid batteries to LifePO4 in my motorhome. I watched many YouTube videos and read lots of articles. I looked at DC to DC chargers and BIMs like this. I decided to go this way and I think it was a good decision. My motorhome already had a BIM that was physically the same as this one, just not for Lithium so it was pretty easy to swap it out. I just took out the original BIM and put this one in its place with the same connections and everything seems to be working properly.
Review: Seems to do the job. - Installation is very easy. Connect the two battery cables to the appropriate terminals. Run a ground wire from the ground terminal to RV chassis. Find an ignition activated wire (one that only has power then ignition is running) and connect that to the ignition terminal. If you want to override and manually connect your house and chassis battery, just run a wire from positive battery terminal through a toggle switch and to signal terminal. Cheap precaution to avoid burning out your vehicle's alternator on long drives.

**Q: Can it connect continuously like the Cyrix and others?  It will take over twice as long to charge if it's disconnected so much of the time.**
A: The purpose of this is to protect the alternator. If it was continously charging the alternator could overheat.

**Q: What are the factors to consider when choosing either 160A model or 225A model? Thank you**
A: 225A is rated for Lithium batteries.  160A is not.

**Q: What gauge wire do I have to run between the house battery (lithium) to the isolate and then from the isolater to the car battery?**
A: I ran 2 gauge wire up to the front so that you have the best bet of the coach batteries being able to start the engine when you tether them together.

**Q: I assume this unit replaces the old mechanical bim 00-10021-000. the wiring appears the same, so i assume its also plug and play?**
A: For the most part, yes. I used it to replace my auto charging and aux start relay in my BCC for my RV. This was needed to protect my alternator from overheating due to my upgraded lithium battery install on my coach.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great alternative to DC converter

This is an excellent alternative, and less costly than a DC to DC converter. It replaced an existing solenoid in my new E450 Ford chassis motorhome. I understand the concept and where to install it, but wasn’t sure I had the correct alternator wiring, so I had a tech install it. It does the job of cycling the alternator current off/on when charging my lithium batteries and protects the alternator from burning out.
