The transition from tote to backpack is instantaneous, and I find the straps are comfy enough. They are quite stiff though and not adjustable in length, but they can be restrapped or even replaced of needed.The bag has 3 easily accessible external pockets, and it has a full zipper closure on the top - all your items are secure. I do wish there were bigger/more external pockets, like on the Sherpani Camden bags, but this is the trade-off for a more upscale look. The fabric is also stiff, but that helps keep the bag shape, and I hope it'll last through a lot of wear and tear.If you're looking for a well-made, stylish, city-friendly convertible and you don't mind the relative trade off in comfort (compared to sportier bags like Sherpani Camden or Timbuk2 Forge), this is a great choice. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Versatile bag! *by C***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2018* I absolutely LOVE this bag. And this fits both! It easily converts from backpack to tote and back again. The exterior front zipper are perfectly placed for easy accessibility and the side zipper fits a small Swell bottle perfectly. I love this bag so much that although originally intended just for travel, it is now my go-to bag/purse for the office and weekends. The burnt orange color is perfect, craftsmanship is great.
