Leatherneck S/F Trainer

I'm very impressed with this training knife. It's well designed, looks great, and feels surprisingly well made for something intended strictly for practice. One thing to be aware of is the weight. It's considerably lighter than a real knife, so if your goal is to replicate the exact weight, momentum, and handling characteristics of the real thing, this isn't going to provide that experience. Because it's so light, it moves through the air much more easily. Where I think it really shines is partner training and controlled sparring. The design allows you to work through techniques, positioning, timing, and defensive movements with another person much more safely than you obviously could with a real blade. I actually ended up buying two different training knives while they were on sale. The other one has more of a double-edged blade profile, while this Leatherneck has a single-edge design. Of the two, I strongly prefer this one. The overall shape, construction, and design just feel much better for training. Very happy with the purchase. Just understand that it's a lightweight training tool rather than a realistic weight simulator.
