Got this ignition coil tester that’s adjustable for spark plugs and circuits and it’s been handy on a lot of jobs. I’m a mobile mechanic so having a tool that lets me check ignition coils quickly helps me figure out problems faster. The tester is easy to use and fits different coil sizes without any fuss. It gives clear results so I don’t have to guess if the coil is working or not. The build feels solid and it’s held up well even after being tossed around in my van. If you do ignition work, this tester is a good addition to your toolkit.

Tester with a Potential Flaw
This review is for the “1 PCS Ignition Coil Tester Adjustable Spark Plug Circuit Tester Autos Diagnostic Test Tool Coil-on Spark Tester for Small Engines Car Lawnmower Chainsaw Motorcycle Alternators.” The Positive The product looks well made. The grounding wire is a big plus for me, as it is made from real rubber and is very flexible. The adjustable spark gap is a useful feature because it allows you to test the strength of the ignition coil. While no instructions came with this product, there is a good YouTube video that explains how to use it. The Negative I did find a potential issue. The adjusting screw is quite loose in its threads. My concern is that when it is connected to an engine, the screw will self-adjust due to vibration from pulling the starter rope or even cranking the engine with the electric starter. This is a potential design flaw, as I have seen other testers that have a spring under the head of the adjusting screw to continuously hold pressure and keep it from self-adjusting. This one does not have that feature.

Nice Spark Tester with Adjustable Voltage Setting
This is a very nice spark tester for both small engines as well as automotive use. It has a screw adjustment that changes the spark gap so you can get a getter idea of how much spark voltage is present. It has settings for small engines (se), 20kV, 30kV and also 40kV. Just clip this between the sparkplug and the coil/coil wire, adjust the spark gap to the appropriate voltage setting and you are good to go. Very functional! This is well made and the spark will be bright and very visible. At this price, this is a great value as well. Every mechanic should have one of these in their toolbox. Recommended!
