Review: Parfait. Il imprime vite. Oui pas de wifi. Mais il numérise, photocopie. Oui c'est noir et blanc, mais c'est ce que je voulais! Fini le jet d'encre qui sèche pour moi!
Review: This printer is, in one word, amazing. It's really small in terms of a laser all-in-one, and it easily fits onto my shelf. This printer is really budget friendly and fits the need for those who need occasional (or even frequent) printing and copying but don't need a full sized printer. In fact, I will call this a great substitute for a home-level all-in-one inkjet! Pros: -Tiny footprint. Takes up very little space. I literally places it in my bookshelf and has no problem using it. -Super fast printing. This printer actually is faster than the HP Laserjet used in my office, especially on the first two pages. It's very efficient for people like me who usually prints less than 3-4 pages. The speed cannot be compared to inkjet printers (a.k.a "home/small office printers") since it's laser. -Easy operation. In fact, you don't need to read the manual to use the basic features of this machine. Pretty much plug and play. Printing and scanning both work out of the box. Copying is easier: just slip in the original, and press start. That's it, no menus to go through, no options to ponder around. The image comes out crisp and clear. -Useful features for personal users. Basic copier functions like zooming and darkness are right on the front panel. There are even other helpful tools like page merging and ID copying (front-and-back on one sheet). Great for those occasions when you need copies of your ID or passport for paperwork. -Toner volume. Although the printer comes with a reduced volume toner, it still can print a whole lot before running out. Moreover, this is one of those printers that does not give you the annoying "low toner" warning, which means it won't bother you with fake warnings nor will it have problems with refilled/compatible cartridges. -Never dries out. After breaking several inkjet all-in-ones, I feel this printer is the perfect one if you don't print that much altogether. Almost all inkjets are designed cheap for really basic use, but once you open up the cartridge, the liquid ink will start drying out if you don't use it often. Once it jams the nozzle, you'll have to replace the cartridge (sometimes with a nozzle sold separately) - almost half the price of another printer. And you will only know it's jammed when you start printing and get no output. This laser printer totally solves the problem since it uses dry ink; when the print is uneven, all you have to do is take the cart out and shake it, and voila. Cons: (the details won't hurt that much, though) -Noise level. I know all printers are noisy when they print, but this one sounds louder than the inkjets and more like a commercial printer. Maybe this is due to its small size, and there's little noise apprehension built in it? -No duplex. I don't mind not having duplex since I can always manually print double sided. However, this printer makes the whole process painful because the only paper tray acts like the "manual feed" tray in most other printers - it prints on the "top" side that the paper was fed in, and outputs them face down, first one on bottom. This is perfect if you want to staple them right after because they are already in the right order (as oppose to inkjets which mostly stacks paper in reverse order, unless you print in reverse). The printer's driver does not support a "reverse order" option, so unless the software I'm using (no, MS Word depends on the printer driver to do it) supports it natively, I'll have to manually reverse the order of the paper before feeding them back in to do the other side. This was really annoying when I had to print a few copies of a large document. -Rough paper handling. Most laser printers will cause a little bend in the printed paper, which is fine. However, this printer seems to run on a thin stripe of transport that the printed paper bend as much as a salad bowl. When printing double sided manually, the printed page would be VERY hard to feed back in the tray, since the sides are bending up. Also, it's hard to hole punch a freshly printed document because of the bending; It's just really hard to get it in there. -Flimsy tray. The paper "holder" is actually only 2 inches wide and really thin when fully extended. If it's placed at a bodily height, I would definitely expect someone to bump into it, get a bruise, and break the holder in half. Luckily I stow mine on the high end of a bookcase, so it shouldn't matter. Plus, you can always remember to tuck it back in after use. In essence, this printer is good enough for home and personal use. Don't get this if you are, say, a designer or just picture maniac because it doesn't print colors, and the grayscale are not that great if you're printing colors "as is". However, it's more than enough for most people, who use their printer once in a while, and especially students. Most importantly, it won't break the bank - You don't have to keep buying new cartridges each time the old ones dry out, and each one can theoretically print at least a few thousand pages.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there a warning or some way to tell before it runs out of toner?**
A: Yes. You know when it begins to print poorly, such as printing light or parts of the page missing. When that happens, remove the toner cartridge and gently rock it back on forth a few time. Then reinstall it. That should fix the problem for a short while, but it's best to keep a spare toner cartridge on hand.

**Q: Does this handle generic cartridges well?**
A: Yes it can. I order them from Overstock. Com

**Q: is it wireless**
A: No it is not wireless. However I have software installed on my computer attached to the printer that allows me to print from ipad wirelessly which is great.

**Q: does it scan**
A: Yes, it scans in black & white with the provided software.
