My switch is docked and it cannot be removed from the holder every time the controllers need charging. **Q: How much amps are required for this charger?** A: .5A (USB 2.0). We always recommend plugging into the switch dock to ensure proper function. **Q: is March 31 the actual release date or a place holder date??** A: I believe that this is a place holder. When I pre-ordered it before it said 3/3.
