False advertising, it says it is compatible with AMD gpus, but the AMD gpus are incompatible with the best mini PCS that are powered by the Ryzen 395 strix Halo APO. The incompatibility issue results in the video card being limited to 120 Watts and running at a much lower speed. I tried to work it out with the seller and they kept blaming me and saying I should buy the USB version when the USB version would have the exact same problem. Amazon offered me a refund if I spent 2 days talking with a seller and now they will not honor that. I paid extra money to buy this through Amazon as a convenience instead of waiting for it to come directly from China at a much lower price. I'm not happy. The poor quality, poor value, poor customer service. I'm sure it would work fine with a Nvidia GPU. I purchased a $1,300 AMD video card after I bought this device because I thought it was compatible and it was hugely inconvenient. This incompatibility should be advertised.

Simple to assemble and well constructed. A good value for oculink

It's easy enough to set up. Bolt on a power supply, connect the atx plug and plug in your pcie video card. Don't forget to plug in the aux power in to your video card. It doesn't seem to be powering up the power supply which might just be my old power supply so I'm ordering a new one. A basic 600w gold antec.

I got this external GPU dock station for my 5080 card so I could connect it through OcuLink to a mini pc and process some llms, and for this use it has been working great. The OcuLink interface was recognized without any tweaking on my end, and I have not had any connection issues between the pc and the card. I paired it with a 650 watt ATX power supply and that has been plenty to handle the card under heavy load. The build of the enclosure feels solid and the slot alignment made it easy to mount the card securely, which gave me confidence during setup. Even when running extended workloads the dock has kept stable performance without unexpected dropouts or disconnects, which has been a big plus for me. One thing I really like is that the size of the dock is compact enough to fit on my desk next to the mini pc without making the setup feel cluttered. Airflow around the card is decent with this enclosure and I have not noticed overheating, though I did add an extra fan nearby to keep the system cooler under full load. The cable that comes with the dock feels sturdy and locks in well, which I think contributes to the reliability of the connection. After using it for a while I feel this setup strikes a good balance between power and portability, letting me run demanding models on a mini pc without needing a full tower build. For my needs it has been a reliable way to expand performance without sacrificing space.
