Works great
We are hopefully, finally replacing an old patio door this year. It is a wooden, and has warped after decades, leaving a real gap along the side- not good for Vermont winters! This product has worked really well, and I have used it the past 3 winters. It does an excellent job sealing the door- a swinging, 'french style'- not a sliding door. No drafts what so ever, and instantly keeps the room warmer. The gap is wider that recommended for use with this caulk in some places. But by going back over it more than once where needed, using multiple layers I am able to form a good seal. It does smell a little, but it isn't bad at all, and not a problem for us. Of course, we can't use that door for the winter then! But that's OK. Also, it removes easily enough in the spring, which besides sealing it up to begin with, is the whole point! After again using it multiple years, after a few winter months it has always peeled off nicely, and not stuck or left residue, etc. Highly recommended, it you need this sort of thing. Looking forward to not needing to next year, following replacing many old windows and this door- but this was sure less expensive, and worded while we needed it.

Works great but don't buy the low-odor latex formula...
Ok key thing is that there are (or where) two versions of this product... a regular version that has been available for years and is still available and a low-odor latex version which was available for one or two years and has been discontinued. The regular versions works wonderfully except that, as some reviewers point out, on the day of application it smells bad (kind of like model glue from when you were a kid). That smell goes away. I have used this for a dozen winters on the window in our master bedroom for about four months each year and the smell has always gone away very quickly (one or two days). My wife is very sensitive to smells and she has never had a problem with it once it has fully cured. The low-odor latex stuff is no longer being made and should not be used if you somehow end up with a tube of it. I have never been unlucky enough to receive any but I researched it once I saw all the bad reviews popping up for this product which had previously worked great for me. My understanding is that the problem is that if the latex stuff is not absolutely 'fresh' when applied it dries hard and can not be removed without damaging paint. If it has been sitting in a warehouse waiting for someone to order a tube over the internet then it is generally not 'fresh'. You should be able to tell the difference between the regular and latex versions of this product because (1) the latex version will be labeled as "low-odor... latex formula" on the tube (2) the latex version will not smell like 'model glue' and (3) the latex version will come out of the tube white and dry clear whereas the original formula comes out clear and dries clear. If your tube matches any of the above criteria do not use it.

Seems to work but difficult to dispense
Takes a lot of hand pressure to dispense so it is a slow process but it seems easy to remove. Harsh odor until it is set so open a window somewhere.

Works like a Charm but Hard to Apply
I have a century home with original windows and like most homes the storms don't seal as well as I'd like in the winter. I put this on the storm frame in the fall and it comes up in the spring with no problem. It goes on better than other brands that I've tried, but don't expect it to be as easy as regular caulk. This is thick and sticky, so it's a real workout to put down. Also, you can't really save it and expect it to work when you come back. I sometimes wonder if I would be better off just buying rubber cement to make application easier, but this does the job well once it's in place.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT DO NOT BUY UNSAFE
For a product intended to seal doors and windows for temporary weatherproofing it is INCREDIBLY poorly designed. The fumes can apparently easily ignite, it does not stick well to surfaces during application, and worst of all- IT HAS CAUSTIC FUMES! You need to use it in a well ventilated environment which apparently needs to STAY well ventilated with a cross breeze for TWO DAYS! I used it in my kids room like an idiot today. I did it as soon as I dropped them off at school. I have an air purifier going in the room, and vented my entire house for an hour before I picked them up. If I am using the product to seal My windows, how am I expected to generate a cross breeze with THIS MUCH toxic off gassing happening? Please please please. Do not buy this to weatherize your home. It is terribly designed and incredibly unsafe. I feel like a terrible mother. I have never known a caulk to have THIS bad of a fume

Not for plexiglass or lead paint
Don’t use on Windows painted with lead paint or plexiglass. It pulled some lead paint off some old windows and would not remove from plexiglass after3-4 months.

great for what it is
I used this caulk last winter to seal some window gaps on windows we do not open in winter. This summer, I was able to pull it off and open some of those windows and I plan to buy more of this as I need this winter. I does what it says it is to do. Some of it is still on the windows from last winter and is still adhering well.
