Liquitex Satin Varnish 237 Ml

Delivered on time and original. Very happy with it. First varnish that was fairly easy to handle/ apply and the satin finish is just right... Between gloss and matte.... Doesn't reflect light like porcelain as gloss does, nor does it reduce contrast/ dull the painting like matte varnish. I do apply a coat of gloss acrylic medium (Monte Marte) as a buffer layer on top of painting before varnishing for a even finish for varnish to sit on. The camlin spray varnish (only other acrylic varnish I could find in India) was terrible, tested it on a rough painting first and decided against it.... Poor finish and uneven coating. Wide, soft brush and careful application has better control than toxic sprays. Protecting your paintings are a must and this one does the job. It's liquitex, so didn't disappoint.

I m a beginner and this is the first product that i used. First coat was a little triky, I don't know weather it's was my paints or this product, in first coat there was a little spread of color later coats were easy... And it's actually effective

After my research already on Youtube videos I was looking for this product specifically to Varnish my Paintings and they look amazing. Nice as expected and used on both Paper and Canvas. Tried for first time and realized you Must Varnish, it gives a nice shine to the Painting, Protects it from Dust and colors looks more vibrant. Just the tricks to varnish should be studied before doing this as it does desolve the color a bit.

I have been using Liquitex Satin varnish for more than three years and it’s a marvellous product. I discovered it thanks to a YouTube video tutorial on protecting oil paintings. I began using it on decoupaged and stencilled items like small tables, specs cases and boxes. It flows easily, has no strong odour and is non toxic. I take care to avoid going over areas already varnished, as once they begin to dry, they turn white. This can’t be rectified, unless you paint over the whole surface. It protects surfaces without getting discoloured with time. But it is not for surfaces that require enormous wear and tear. Very hot objects for instance, will leave marks. I use a sponge brush and after a few coats and gentle sanding in between, the finish is satin smooth. I’m extremely happy I discovered Liquitex as it allows me to protect my craft work with ease and dries very fast too.

This varnish is odourless and easy to use. I like the uniform satin finish it gives. Just a single thick coat is sufficient.

I am pouring this to achieve glass looking coating. Two coats are sufficient to achieve just that... I tried brushing, but it did not work for me. Its a bit of wastage, but not much!
