I was surprised by how small and quiet it is for a gaming laptop—I was expecting something much bulkier and more intrusive. The 115W TGP on the GPU really stands out and delivers strong performance in any game. I was also able to add another SSD to increase storage capacity, which is great since it has two slots. I really love the aluminum finish on the lid; it feels very premium and high quality. As for areas to improve, I would only point out that the RAM runs at 4200 MHz—being DDR5, I was expecting a bit more. The 280W power adapter is included, which is definitely appreciated. In terms of aesthetics, the RGB keyboard is not per-key customizable, but it does allow full-keyboard color changes and several lighting effects. Overall, ASUS software is among the best available for gaming laptops.

I needed a laptop that can handle my accessibility needs. I use Magnifier and a screen reader, which can be rather taxing on a system. When I was researching this product, one of the first YouTube reviews that came up was some guy bashing this product. But I kept watching other reviews and reading. I wound up by giving it a chance. I'm glad I did. The first video review I saw where the guy was bashing it, was comparing it to something twice the price or more... which is not fair to do. This laptop is actually VERY nice. It's sturdy, not flimsy, which was a big selling point for me, since my school-age daughter and I aren't the most graceful people on the planet. It's got a 16 inch nice crispy display, with a full keyboard, including a numpad. The key travel isn't quite that of an external keyboard, but MUCH better key travel than many other laptops. I can actually type on this thing. It's got plenty of USB ports, an HDMI out, combo headphone/mic 3.5mm port, etc., and even has an Ethernet port. If you're going to get this, I would suggest a couple things: Get an extra 8GB of RAM for it. As soon as Windows is done installing and setting up itself, remove the bloatware like McAfee and most of the ASUS services. They're completely unnecessary, and only serve to take resources away from what you want to be doing instead. You can always re-install the ASUS stuff later if you need to modify or diagnose stuff. Go to Windows Update and get the latest drivers for the chipsets. So far, I don't have any major complaints. It runs everything I've thrown at it, including games like ESO and Star Wars: Outlaw. Is it a $3000 Alienware uber-spec'ed wet dream? No. It's a fully capable, well built gaming laptop.

The ASUS computers have been solid computers for mid tier gaming and designs. We have got several over the past few years. When choosing which one Get the CPU/GPU, graft a card, and screen size you want. You can upgrade memory and SSD to fit your goals. Based on others reviews I had seen some of the models sold by 3rd parties can potentially have some defects. But those seem hit or miss as any mass production item can have some faulty hardware. My recommendation: I prefer the GPU over CPU with 5-7 cores. And a decent graphics card. I usually go NVIDA for the card. Unless you want to get the best get one that is a year or two older. They can still crank up graphics pretty well and save you some money. I can’t say for sure what the sweet spot is for model numbers as those change frequently. Windows 11 is the best long term choice even though I’d stay Windows 10 If that was feasible. But it’s not. I’d recommend getting at least 32Gb of Ram for gaming. Whether you desire to spend more now or save now and upgrade later. The choice is yours. 16gb will let you play games but not have the beat graffiti settings. As for the SSD if your laptop doesn’t have an additional slot. You can clone your SSD and replace it. I just replaced my 500gb to go to 2tb. I’d say don’t go less than 500gb to start. If you do like to download a lot of games and have videos or video editing the more space you have is always better. SSD cards have a read write speed. The better that speed is the quicker apps and games load up and process. I hope this helps!
