Is this the same or a mistake?** A: Me too just opened the box cannot find any info on line about big splash pearlite nor if this version of the product is cheaper than the product advertised and that I paid for. **Q: scoops for backwash 60 sq ft filter ?** A: For my QUAD DE60 filter, I use 5 1lb scoops. I place 5 scoops of DE in a 5-gallon bucket and add water to make a slurry and dump it into the strainer opening and use the hose to flush water and DE so it doesn't clump **Q: What volume (in cups quarts or liters, not weight or "coffee cans") are you supposed to use per sq ft of filter?** A: I think it depends on your filter. I read about the risk of silicosis from DE air borne powder so I decided to switch. I tried a fiber material but I prefer this pearlite product. It is just like DE and easy to use. I have been using it for a couple of years and feel it works as well or better.
