I'd say 10 yrs. old, 8 maybe. Great game, and a great learning tool, just don't tell the kids that. **Q: Do we need a dictionary to define legitimate words? Would kids be disadvantaged due to limited vocabulary?** A: We just use Dictionary.com on our smart phones to define words. It's a good idea to have it on hand because there are rules about challenging another player's word. Kids aren't at a disadvantage because of the method of play. As soon as we received the game, it became our friends' and family's favorite. **Q: What is the difference (besides the cost) between this game and the Quiddler card game?** A: This is the card game. There is a deluxe version tht has a book with it and a special tin.
