Review: Baseus VD1 Pro Solar Dash Cam Front and Rear, 4K+1080P Dash Camera - Installed this Dash Cam 30 days ago. Very simple to install. Plugs right into 12 volt power outlet (Cigarette Lighter Socket) I leave it plugged in 24 Hour 7 Days a week. It has never ran my battery down. It draws very little to no voltage while in standby, I assume because it is also solar powered. I drive a Volkswagen Jetta Stationwagon. It also has a 12 Volt power supply in the rear so it made my installation very easy. I ran the wires over head and tucked the wires underneath the headliner for a clean looking installation. Had plenty length of cable that ran to the rear window with a lot of extra I had to coil up and tape. All connections are plug and play making it real easy to install. The installation is very easy and can be done quickly by one person. Make sure you clean the windshield and rear window in the spot your going to stick your camera into with a little rubbing alcohol to remove any residual chemicals from cleaning the windshield. I stuck a piece of blue tape on the outside of windshield so I knew exactly where to hang my camera on the inside, made it real easy to install. The camera front and rear were so easy to install and to operate I never had to refer to the user manual that is included in several different languages. The camera is very reliable as I never turned it off because it goes into standby mode after a few minutes or earlier. When I start the car it turns back on. The camera is small enough you hardly know it's there inside and out, I was worried it would be too visible from the outside-but it is not. You can hardly see it from the outside looking in. Don't let the size fool you. It is just the right size needed to record perfect video and images. Anything larger would be noticeable from the outside and it isn't too large that it obstructs your outside view. I have gotten used to it now, and do not even know it's there. This is my first car camera ever owned and used. It is a real easy install. Real easy to operate. I highly recommend this camera to new novice users. All I did was run the cable, plug it in, stick the camera to the windshield and it was up and running. It comes with a 32 GB Memory card to record with. I used the camera to format the card. ### ⭐ poor design of a camera and IT NEEDS CABLE, TO RECORD ANYTHING WHEN YOUR DRIVING.

What a dumb design I was hoping this camera does not need wire but it need them while driving. let me explain the camera is solar but it only uses the solar panel if the car is parked and it will only rec while driving unless you connect the camera to the electric charge panel. ... WHAT?! I thought this camera will always record since its expose to sunlight and has a battery but NO, in order to turn on the device you have to charge the freaking thing just to turn it on, if the camera is not connected with something to charge the stupid thing turns says BATTERY POWERED and turns off. WHAT WHY?! WHAT WAS THE POINT OF BATTERIES. The camera also need internet connection to view any videos so you have to download an app and paid subscription, thankfully you don't need the subscription but I already dislike the idea of downloading an app and have paid subscription in my face just to find any rec videos. Also prey that the video file are not corrupted. because this happened to me twice The final straw was the camera overheating and will refuse to record anything and turns off. in my mind is the CAR WILL ALWAYS BE HOT INSIDE EVEN IF I PARK IT IN A SHADE OR GIVE IT SUN BLOCK. This camera is piece of junk it fooled me thinking it will work fine by its own since it has a solar panel but its brought down with poor designs a need for a cable like any other dash camera and chance of video being corrupted or overheat and turns off. avoid this camera and look for something else.
