I have used expensive and cheap shampoos over 50 years. I was hooked on a brand name shampoo/ conditioner combo for sleek, non frizzy hair. I ran out and found this in the cabinet from my daughter. it was purchased about three years ago! I used it and my hair felt amazing. I use it every other day and no idea it was a clarifying shampoo until I just ran out and looked at the label to buy more. Leaves me blow dried hair silky smooth but not greasy. No frizz even on day two. I used another shampoo last week and my hair was a frizzy mess. Back to the VO5. I will be using this until I can no longer find it.

I love this stuff. After my stylist friend and research told me the benefits of using a clarifying shampoo once in awhile to clear up the scalp, I grabbed this to give it a try since it was inexpensive. I didn't want to drop a lot of cash since I was just testing out how a clarifying shampoo would work for me, you know?Welp, this ended up working extremely well. I even got my brother turned on to this when he started having issues with his scalp breaking out due to excess residue. It's inexpensive, lathers well, has a nice scent, and leaves hair "squeaky" clean. I only use it a couple times a month because excessive use of something like this will dry out your hair since it strips everything, including the natural oils. I always follow up with my usual moisturizing conditioner or a conditioning treatment. I don't see any point in continuing use of the clarifying conditioner.So in my experience, VO5 clarifying + moisturizing conditioner/treatment = gold. I get a lot of compliments on my hair.
