On their website it states it is now dye free, is this correct? Is it now a clear solution?

no, it was not clear, the bottle that I got. But that was last year.

What exactly is this used for ? Is it like a relaxation syrup or what ?

This is a oral liquid suspension formula. You use it to evenly dose oral medicines, poweders or other supplements. For example if I had some Tylenol pills that my child had issues swallowing I could theoretically crush them up into a fine powder and mix them the solution. Then by using basic math equations could figure out the dosage in mg/ml based on the volume of liquid and amount of powder that was used.
