Very handy tool

If I had a nickel for every time I could’ve used this I’d be rich. I had a large poster on the wall but it wasn’t half as useful as this. Whoever designed this should get an award. For starters it’s crystal clear to read. It’s laser etched into a nice sturdy piece of stainless steel and will last a lifetime. The drill size holes are priceless and will make it effortless to match up bits to the tap. It’s the perfect size and very well laid out. I like it so much I clear coated it so it stays this nice forever. Just buy it. A better one doesn’t exist.

I’ve been needing something like this for a long time. It works really great and it is well built. I would buy this again if I needed it for sure.

Does it’s job bigger than I thought but that’s my fault for not looking at it.. the feet are a nice touch

This handy tool takes some guesswork out of the workshop. I am habitually eyeballing stuff, and while I have been mostly successful, I have had some failures. I have wasted some material in my day. This thread and bit gauge will help me waste less material. I find this gauge to be very accurate, and quite durable. The stainless steel is heavy and sturdy. The body has little risers, which you will need to install, to create space below for your drill bits and bolts to pass through cleanly. I am happy with this addition to my workshop. Good, solid quality for what it is. However, I was thinking that the holes were threaded for thread checking machine screws. They are not, it is only tapping drill sized holes. I guess I misread the description. Personally, I'm never going to use it to just check drill size. I'll tap all the holes as I build my tap inventory.

This tap drill gauge is a wonderful tool to help easily find out what size bits you have and what size tap holes to create. I really liked that is was made of very heavy duty stainless steel so it will weather the hardships of shop use. I also liked that the lettering was large and contrasty white letters on blue background. Either because of poor lighting or poor eyesight, this is always welcome. So why is this tool so welcome? How easy is it to determine the size of a bit when the lettering on a drill bit can be black on black in 4 point font? Instead of looking for the reading glasses and squinting, just place the bit in the matching hole and read the size of the bit from the LARGE font on the sizing tool. What a relief! This is a must have for any aging woodworker.
