I searched youtube for instructions on the hinge method and watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7WbWebGrSU (there are several others just like it) and was able to install without a problem.The packaging included something that was blue and maybe looked like an adhesive, but I had no idea what it was for so I did not use it. This protector also does not have a top layer to remove, so you'll have to wipe your finger prints off of the top after you've installed it, but that's not an issue because you'll be wiping them off regularly anyway.Obviously, if you choose to use one of the home screen buttons that are included, you will not be able to use touch ID. I also bought a case and this works well with my case. Several 'tools' are imcluded to aid in the installation. No air bubbles and minimal smoothing on 2 different phone installations. After using an Otterbox defender built in protector for years I changed to a thinner case and needed a screen protector. Using this one feels like my fingers are sliding across smooth ice. Very responsive screen. I have never used an iPhone screen bare for any period but it cannot much different than with this protector. I gave only 4 stars because on one install the corner of the protector seems to have residue in an arc shape. It is possible my finger hit the sticky side but I don't think it did. In any event the price is right and i would definitely purchase again. The instructions are written quite small, so as I was struggling to read the instructions, even with my glasses on, it slipped out of my hands. I dropped it after the part where you take off the protective coating. I picked it up, followed the rest of the instructions and put it on. It is fine except for a thumbprint size light spot. I probably messed up the adhesive coating. If I had a second chance to put it on, now that I know what I'm doing, it would likely come out perfect. But we typically only go through putting these things on once.
