Review: Lots of fun - Six year old loves to “study” nature and animals, so this has provided lots of quality time learning about frogs. He’s put this together countless times and enjoys the additional information included. Some of it is tricky to fit together at first, but he figured it out. Also, some of the clear pieces will come off easily, but so far nothing has gotten lost.
Review: A good tool for a kid interested in learning about frogs - Great addition to a science fair project - My son's school sponsors a non-competitive, non-graded science fair where the kids can choose a topic that interests them and they research it. His topic was frogs. As a 4th grader, he has not yet been introduced to dissection so this was a great way to help him discover the insides of a frog. He had intended to build it for the science fair, but it was a little difficult as a puzzle to put together in the amount of time he had left himself. So, he decided to bring the parts in a box and lay them out for people to look at. It turned out to be a great icebreaker for him to start explaining what he had learned; he'd show the lungs, for example and explain that as a tadpole it started with gills. There was a good picture on the back of the box that listed the body parts, and a piece of paper that gave a brief explanation. For example, it explained that a frog's heart is different than a human heart in that it has only 3 chambers, not 4. The pieces are brightly colored and sturdy. It is a good product, particularly for what we used it for.

A: Not on our model.  The leg bones are shown as embedded in the muscle, and only on one side.

This is an amazing tool to teach and help nurture your child's desire to learn about nature and anatomy. Many of us are faced with those exciting questions from our kids.... why do frogs, dogs, horses, ants... do what they do. Be mindful the pieces are not in extreme detail and you should keep at the forefront of your mind to be patient when going through the parts. Parts of the anatomy do not "stick" together.... that is some of the exploration of the model. Frog is large and so are the pieces. Has been very enjoyable for all of our children. With no mess...
