Addi Egg is the smallest of the popular Express Knitting Machines. This miniature version has 6 needles, legs, hand crank, protective dome and hanging weight. It produces a thick i-Cord much like a French knitting dolly but in a fraction of the time!.

Review: Machine flaws - Read before buying! - ATTENTION! READ BEFORE BUYING! First, I want to preface this by saying that I own the Addi King and love it! This little egg however, is more the court jester. While it looks amusing it will 100% frustrate you to no end. It tangles, slips stiches and the teeth are not the quality one has come to expect from this company. While the King comes with sturdy white teeth that have a sharp lip and deep mouth, the Egg has a more rounded lip, softer edges and is made flimsy, much thinner, material. The red prongs on the egg, meant to catch and hold the stitches, have too much of a slope to them and often allow stitches to slip back and bunch. It is my belief, that if the company were to fix these issues, this product would be not only useable, but phenomenal. I will be returning my egg in hopes of finding a better solution to my I cord creation needs.

**Q: Need to purchase replacement needles for my Addi egg. Where do I purchase them**
A: Go to ebay and search⁰ addi parts. The company is in Germany. Shipping is $10, I think. I usually buy several things I don't need, but may need in the future to offset the shipping costs. I tried to put the address on here, but it was blocked. Good luck! Oh! When they arrive, makebsure all of the needles you are using are identical and they sink below the platform, or your frustration level will become overwhelming.

**Q: What can you make with this?**
A: You use this to make icord, a knitted tube. Different devices make different sizes, this machine has six hooks. 
As for what you can do with the icord once you’ve made it, that’s a different question. You can make appliqués with it to decorate bags or clothes or pillows, like coiled flowers with stems or whatever you can imagine.  You can use it for drawstrings or put rope inside and use it for handles. You can use it as a thick yarn to crochet chunky baskets, trivets, rugs, or even hats. You can use it as edging on pockets and sleeves. You can use it to make arms for knitted stuffed animals, or tiny scarves for snowmen… to name a few ideas.

**Q: Will this machine work with worsted weight yarn?**
A: Yes, some. Try one of the thinner ones, like Caron Simply Soft, or something that is fairly slippery. I think they'll need less "babysitting."

**Q: does this come with the egg weight?**
A: Yes, it does. However, with some yarns, I've learned that the provided weight isn't heavy enough. I solved this by going to a hardware store and purchasing a plumb bob that is slightly heavier than the addi egg's own weight.

This knitter worked like it was intended to when you use the correct size yarn. I like the weight and that it has legs and was compact and good for travel. It was easy to put together and use. I found it to be of qood quality as it did not break will using it. I returned it because I thought it would do bigger yarn which it will not. It did fine with 4 worsted weight cotton . Just not a 5 weight which is what I needed. It looked bigger like it would and I saw a video that lead me to believe it would, but the yarn I wanted to use was to big, it just kept jamming up. I bought the next size up a 22 needle Addi to see if that will work. They need an in-between size of these two machines.
