The idea of these straps is that you tie down a part that's associated with the wheels, so the car is free to move on its suspension. If you do that the straps should stay tight and secure. When you use straps like these you want to hook to the tow bed 3-5 feet away from the axle to get a flat angle to hold the vehicle against surging forward or backward. But that long run means the vehicle can move if you tow on roads rough enough to bounce it into the air. The solution for that, if that's a worry, is to weld E-track to the tow bed and use e-track straps over the wheels. Vulcan also sells those. So I recommend these for what they are, but at my company we have both tie down systems and use whichever fits the situation and the vehicle. We don't expect one strap to work for all.
